My imprezzion of E\/E

level80uberruler	Posted - 2007.07.03 08:16:00 - [1] My mates were all oh you should try E\/E its sweet and i was yeah ok im gonna try cuz im bored with wow atm nd need more challenges. in wow i have reached endgame a long time ago and i pretty much got the best lewt in the game completing all the major quests and being apart of the biggest raids in gaming history with many many people. my toon is a member of one of the biggest guilds imo. so then i tried E\/E and i cant say i understand what all the fuzz is about. i undock in my belator ship and told to go get some materials in some type of asteroid and al i see are people flying by in huge ships. i tried getting materials from the belt but i never reached a new level or nothing atleast in wow you get some sense of progress when you lvel up and not to mention raiding with guud ppl and you reach levels faster so i think that i should atleast be able to get a cruiser or something. so from what i seen E\/E is like an old mans game where nothing really happens apart from watching paint dry lol. i consider myself a h@rdcore gamer and i would bet that anyone could own in this game the only problem is that people have a life and caunt be chained to theyr computer ofcorse i can be wrong. but i liked the soundtrack that was awsome and the graphics was nice. i also really like theyr (ccp) website with the item data base and stuff like that thats somethig not all mmos have so hat off to the creators for that. i was hoping this game would be cool but im dissapointed tbh but gl hf all. peace out!

Posted - 2007.07.03 08:42:00 - [9] Actually, no I don't play WoW. thinks back Once upon a time, I was a mighty guild leader for Praetorian Guard - we were the highest ranked PvP guild across all the servers in points. Then one day, I was L60, and all my friends were L60, and we all had our epic mounts, purple PvP gear, and were finding out that we would sit in the queue for a battleground for hours at a time waiting for some hordies to queue up. Having seen the raiding system, and being completely unwilling to grind countless hours for...slightly better purples....there comes a point in WoW where you say to yourself, "Ok, what now?" Then you amuse yourself by raiding towns with your guild and scaring all the folks out of it while you kill their guards... Then you realize that you were just procrastinating the inevitable and cancel your account to go play something a little more immersive, a little more..."meaningful" if you will. Sorry friend, my post was quite tongue in cheek.

I've some experience translating the arcane texts of those whose grasp on the English language has slipped... My translation: I am like so awesome in WoW. EVE is too difficult, time consuming, and does not offer you instant gratification for beating up reincarnations of Private Pile the Bandit (see: levelling). Furthermore, I am hardcore, and EVE is not a hardcore game. Peace out! But on a lighter note.. To each his own I guess. WoW is a great game if you like that kind of thing. EVE is on it's own track, and persons such as yourself simply won't find it appealing (no insult intended).

(meant in a non flamy way). There is no instant gratification in eve like in wow so yeah its an old mans game and I guess I am an old man. It can be a rather complex and difficult to grasp at first, There are no preset skill "trees" and suchlike which decide your advancement for you and training isn't done by grinding, the only thing that'll get you is Isk and LP (LP if you're doing missions) I wouldn't worry about getting in a bigger ship right away if I were you, the size of your ship is only a status symbol for the new players, as you advance and learn you'll see that it's not always bigger equals better. In WoW, it's the people who, at lvl 2, plan out their talent trees after doing research, track down a good guild and raid deadmines at lvl 13 with similar-minded people. Reaching lvl 70 is not hardcore. Raiding Magtheridon is not hardcore. Finding new and unique ways to utterly crush challenges that are supposed to be way out of your league is hardcore.
