The answer is here people, it's faction smartbombs. I bought one accidentally from the LP store and thought I might as well use it now that I've got it. OHMYGOD, is it good on my domi. I aggro, the scramblers swarm round me, I click smartbomb leave it going and just clear the mission. It's great!

that or small drones are pretty damned effective. i dont use a smartie as i help lower spec chars in missions and i dont wanna get concorded if i hit them by mistake lol

smartbombs are effective but they take up a high slot! :(
luckily Abaddon has large enough drone bay to squeeze 5 meds and 5 lights into- any frig that gets too close will be fried by lights.
oh, and smartbombs were good to have on drone missions too (lvl 3's at least)

I only really use the smartbomb on drone missions. You have to know your mission well because in some the frigs are triggers for new spawns.

If you happen upon scramblers with 7500m orbits, you are sol with your faction smartbombs too I think. Not to mention the danger that a cloaked griefer in your mission poses when you fire a smartbomb in highsec with him near you...
I would never fit a SB on a mission ship, drones do fine against scramblefrigs. The only mission I used to use smartbombs in was enemies abound 1/5, where using anything BUT smartbombs on the initial 5 scramblers caused mass aggro. But I hear this has changed so... (Have not has EA in AGES though regrettably...)

Smartbombs are just silly. The only use I see in em is to pop bubbles in pvp. I'm using the Abaddon aswell and the scram frigs don't even bother me on any mission. I just release the medium drones and let them take em bit by bit. If it ain't possible to use drones due to aggro...then I just aggro and shoot down the next group, nuff said.

The majority of scrambling frigs in missions stay outside smartbomb range, so I prefer to keep a group of T2 light drones on hand.

T2 light drones is a good backup if you can't kill it with missiles or smarties.
