It costs money to make EVE TV, if you "steal" it and watch it for free, there will eventually be no EVE TV. We don't want that, I don't think most of you wants that, and paying for EVE TV isn't that expensive.
Posting links or directions on how to see EVE TV for free is a warnable offence on these forums, and may lead to a forum ban, likewise, a fansite supporting (or not removing) watching EVE TV for free will not be considered a fansite for much longer.

Xylania told me that older EVETV episodes would be posted on Youtube or offered for download, so that they could be watched again for free rather than paying money again and again each time the episode is watched.
Is making money really so important that you'd rather have your own users pay twice to watch a video twice? If you keep doing this, odds are people will just give up paying Jalipo and torrent it all instead.

If that were the case then people wouldn't be complaining about paying...

It tells you how to do it on the eve tv site itself.

Going by the fact that the torrent has 4 seeders and 4 leachers according to the website, well it is getting torrented

I seem to quite-specifically remember something about, "If you paid for the episode already, re-watching it is free." That does not currently seem to be the case, however. Perhaps a shortcoming on Jalipo's end?
While we're on the topic, what is the breakdown on EveTV's budget, from both ends?
% of revenue from services rendered % of revenue as grants/loans from CCP % of revenue as grants/loans from MMM
and
When we pay 180 credits (==$1.80) to watch an episode, how much of that goes to Jalipo, how much of that goes to the payment-processing intermediary (if any), and how much ends up in EveTV's pocket?

You misunderstand. If it all goes to Jalipo, then we can get together a fan-supported hosting service, like eve-files. If it all goes to the payment processor, CCP has in-house payment processing, and we can switch to that. If it all goes to the EveTV team... well, good!

Im sure Eve-TV have considered their options, and looked at viable alternatives taking a lot of factors into account. As a non-public (ie private, for profit) organisation, I doubt they'd be revealing this information anytime soon. --------------------------------- |

At least in the U.S., it's part of a public company's fiduciary responsibility to make the most money possible for its investors. If we can provide them with free or reduced-cost hosting, as a community, why wouldn't they take advantage of that?

Originally by: Jalipo Revenue split is 80% for the content company and 20% for Jalipo. The revenue share for people that syndicate the content will be set by the content company.
Most stuff on Jalipo is 1.25 credits per minute for the 250k stream, some documentarys are 2.25 credits/minute and movies and EVE TV are 4.25 credits/minute. But I guess they still need a couple thousand people watching it to make it worthwhile.
