Edited by: Paddlefoot Aeon on 04/07/2007 14:10:18 This is not a threat... more of a public service.
We have discovered a problem with the way certain in-game standings are being shown. It seems that, for negative standings, corp-level standings are overriding the alliance-level standings.
For example, Sparta has alliance "x" set red... however, on overview and in local, they show as neutral. Alliance "x" only shows red to my corp when I set them red at a corp-to-alliance level. Note... this doesn't seem to be an issue for our blue/light blue standings
We work on NBSI, so no worries for us. However, we greatly prefer our reds to actually show up as reds, and we know that many of you guys do as well.
Here is the thread I created in the game development forum... I would suggest monitoring it for any replies from the Devs. This has also already been bug reported... though if you have this same problem, more bug reports could only help.

Yeah, it works as intended
Personal Standings override Corp Standings and Corp Standings Override Alliance Standings
people want really show red/neutral/blue until they are on your overview, and besides you still should have corp-corp standings set, if you cleared them lol @ you

No, I don't think this is intended... and here are my reasons.
First, this only applies to the "red" settings... all the alliance level Blue standings are unaffected.... as I show blue to people in overview, but my corp has no standings set towards them.
Second, this only seems to have happened since the patch yesterday. Therefore, we think its an unintentional bug, something related to how standings are now shown in the bottom right corner of a character's portrait when you "show info"
Third, the Devs have been working on making it easier to set standings towards other entities. Case in point, you can now set corp-to-alliance standings, whereas before you had to set every member corp in that alliance independently. I find it hard to believe that after this, they would now make all member corps have to set standings again.
If this is truly working as intended, I would think that the change would be marked in the patch notes, and apply to both blue and red standings equally. As none of this is the case, we believe this is a bug. -----------------------------------------------

Note that if your corp had no standign towards an allaince, thatmeans neutral, now the satanding from your alliance worht nothing. Since they are overhidden. That makes alliance standign worthless.

It's for sure fubared somehow.
For example an alliance set to orange or red via alliance relationship shows neutral. Set them to blue as a test and it will show blue.
Doesn't look like it has anything to do with corp standings overriding alliance standings as expected, does it?
But who doesn't operate on NBSI nowadays anyway?!? --- Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity. |

No standing set should not override a set standing.

If this is really what they were telling us, then blue standings would show as neutral but reds would remain red. Which I think would be fantastic
