Yeah, a lot of people are... distanced from those around them.
However, I know one person who was mugged after trying to help a woman who looked like she had broken her ankle.

This doesn't shock me. People are capable of the most shameful scummery, and it's a known phenomenon that crowded public places tend to lower people's sense of social conscience. We tend to think "that person can't really be in trouble, or someone else would have helped them by now". --------------------------------------------------------------------
