well against better judgement I agreed to a one vs one against Cat Casidy. My Hyperion VS astarte. He brought in nicelittlegirl, and that ended our one vs one.

Because you love laughing at people who have to pull in another person when they are obviously going to lose in a much more expensive ship then your own?

1vs1 are fine.
Agreement made with a loser is not. It speaks to the type of person you are. I wouldn't feel good about breaking an agreement made in the game. Wouldn't do it. This thinking doesn't cross others minds, cause it's how they are in real life. High school shooter wannabes :P -- greater love hath no man than this; that a man lay down is life for his friends. |

Soo i swore I wouldn't do this, but since the OP won't let the topic die, gave as few details as possible, and apparently doesn't read his own killmails, Ima have to.
1. OP loses Hyperion #1 to a roaming squad of ours out having fun on the other side of the galaxy.
2. I JC to this side of the galaxy to pick up some supplies and decide to wait around a few minutes to see if there's anything to shoot.
3. OP enters system , sees me flashing red and decides it's a brilliant idea to private convo one of the other three people in the system (low sec) and tell them that he's on his last ship, almost broke, and feels like going out in a blaze of glory by attacking me, and would this person mind not interfering, apparently not noticing that I'm from the same Alliance that 30 minutes earlier relieved him of Hyperion #1.
4. I kill somebody.
5. OP's Hyperion warps to station, sits 11 km from me and watches me tank the gate guns with full agro and my -10 flashing bright. Knowing he's already said he wants to kill me I expect a fight, him having the station guns in his favor, but after about minute he docks.
6. I kill someone else.
7. I wait for 18 minutes for the guy who wants to kill me ina "blaze of glory" (thats a quote i swear, why do people private convo one of three people in low sec and tell them these things?) to undock, happily resetting my timer.
8. Fairly polite banter from both sides ensues (for real).
9. I pretend to kill someone else.
10. OP finaly undocks, I lock him, he locks me and we both stare at each other.
11. I ask if he wants to fight, he says yes, I say no docking up now if it goes bad, ( we're zero km from the dock and hes flying around the side of the station hugging it) OP says no promises.
12. I ask the OP to web me (I'm -10) to start the fight so we can at it without sentry fire getting n the way of a good fight, he refuses and insists I should agro and tank the sentries and himself since I happen to be -10 and that somehow makes it my job.
11. OP gets stuck bouncing on the station.
12. I tell him Im going to P4 and we can do it there if he realy does want to.
13.OP docks and much civil banter ensues. (I promise)
14. After 10 minutes of said civil banter, I have given the OP my entire ship setup including resists, drones, and ammo.
15.OP still won't come out of the station but continues to insist it's because he happens to be incredibly smart.
15 1/2 ish. Remeber the people who relieved him of Hyperion #1 like an hour ago? another one them enters local, also in an Astarte. OP fails to notice this in his sheer outsmartingness.
16. I offer a 3/4 armor fight just for giggles, OP refuses but decides what the heck, lets fight.
17. OP continues to not notice two Astartes from the same alliance, (the one that Hyperion #1 an hour ago remeber) in local on the same grid. Also continues not noticing the Drake that was supposedly blown up 20 minutes ago also on grid.
18. OP announces in local he will meet me at planet 1.
19. ZOMG! he fit heavy NOS, and the exact drones to counter my tank! how'd he know?? Oh ya, I told him my entire setup like 10 minutes ago, when he still wouldn't undock.
20. well this ones realy kinda easy to guess,(it's kinda like Hyperion #1 but with a bigger number).
21. OP posts this topic and apparently continues not noticing the other Astarte on grid, or on the KillMail, or the fact that he lost two Hypes in 2 hours to the same people.
I've never broken a 1v1 before, but then I've also never put up with 45 minutes of that much nonsense before either. Sorry if that makes me a bad person.

Edited by: Cat Casidy on 06/07/2007 19:49:24 Ah, so you DID read the part where I told the person who entered system with the intent to kill me every exact detail of my ship so he could spend 15 minutes sitting in the dock preparing his MUCH larger ship and smacktalking in local. Glad at least one person read it.

looks like I struck a nerve.
I wonder who would be stupid enough to believe that the system Decon, one over from Balle, has fittings to fit a battleship with the fittings that I had on it. I came as I was. Decon is no market area, and none of the modules on my ship were on in Decon.

Honor does not outweigh common sense. Many people make stupid mistakes because of honor.
You got your blaze of glory, and your whine thread. Would you like some cheese with that?

From an American revolutionary war perspective.
You'd rather line up and be cannon fodder like the British? Or would you use guerrilla tactics and win the fight like Americans?
Honor has its limits, and that's to the point of idiocy. Honor is a stupid ideal in many senses. The greatest generals lose fights due to over inflated egos and honor.
