Hello. I recently was able to reinstall EVE, and have promptly begun my quest for PvP and Piracy. I have a few kills under my belt, and a hell of a lot more deaths, and I'm still looking for a Pirate Corp to call home. Don't let my account age fool you, I had to take a break from EVE for over a year, to train for some rl PvP (Army. :()
Recently, however, as I progress through skills and isk, I'm noticing there are very few if any setups listed for higher class Amarr ships that are effective in solo PvP. Does anyone have any helpful tips? Like, say, is there anything Amarran worth flying past the Punisher? T1 ships, for the moment. Still working up to an assault frig or inty.
Any help would be appreciated... like, say, where the hell are all those carebear low-sec miners? :( ________ Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -LordHarold ([email protected]) |

the curse is awesome, and the absolution. I don't see much use in the other ships. Train gallente :P

For "decent" T1 Amarr cruiser ships, look at the Arbitrator (IF you have the drone skills to support it), and the Maller using the duramaller setup.
Amarrian AFs are crap for PVP so don't bother training for them.

Higher class solo ships? curse, pilgrim, zealot, geddon can be but tricky to use
Low sec miners are rather rare these days. the cautious miners have just gone to high sec cos it's not much different and the one's that want the bigger money have gone to 0.0 which most of the time is safer than low sec.

Solo, Nano curse all the way. Small gangs, Zealot. Solo or small gangs (solo can be etchy) Gankageddon Mid-Large gangs: Apoc/Abaddon (i prefer the apoc tbh) Absolution can do the lot, but i dont like it. Its slow, fat and dosn't output as much DPS or have as good a tank as other said command ships.
Amarr AFs: Dont use em. Amarr inties: Great Fun.
Pilgrim: can be used for solo, but better if your partnered up with say a rapier.
Setups? i know your asking for setups but im at work and cba to be listining them here, drop me a message ingame on Cyan Gadarin :]
But yeah, generally T1 amarr frigs/cruisers suck ass ¼_¼ =

But in all seriousness, the Pilgrim, Curse, and Absolution are all fantastic ships. The Damnation is also dead sexy, and the Abso is up there too.
As far as bs goes, the Abaddon is a BEASTLY tanker (5% resist bonus to all armor resists per level, plus large innate resists, plus an assload of armor, plus a whole helluvalot of lowslots = sexy tank), and the Armageddon is a good pvp BS when fitted with megapulses from what I've read on the forums.
Archon looks teh sex, Aeon looks teh fug (good thing you probably won't ever fly one then), and the Revelation is very cool looking (thought its turrets remind me of legos for whatever reason... still very cool looking).
edit: I agree with Kehmor's statement on training Gallente, far better in general for solo pvp. Still have lots of lowslots, and usually an extra medslot or two, and then there's always those drone things...
Oh yeah, and the pink half-doughnut of doom known as the Lachesis. And the Ishtar and Eos. And the Astarte. And the Domi. And the Mega. And the Thorax. And the Taranis. And the Ishkur. And the Enyo.
The list goes on.

Or join the War, get some hard lessons in combat and then transcend them to your piracy.
However there is one other way to get a jump start in piracy...track down Boobhead and smart bomb him.

Fighting in the blob doesn't teach you how to be a low-sec douche, there is not enough 1 on 1, its usually you and 10 friends find one noob from the other side jumping in an industrial or poorly equiped BS and wipe the floor with him.

Oh but i disagree. There are a lot of small skirmishes out here. And there are prolly 10 skirmishes to every blob fest. Its that everyone hears about the BLOB/lag fest Battles and not the skirmishes. Where I am you have the opportunity to take on ISK farmers, the scum bags you are at war with and the occasional delusional goofball from empire.
Derovius...are you telling me you know the difference between 0.0 and lo sec combat? Hmmmm

this char is almost exclusively galente and to a lesser degree minmatar. which means i have access to a lot of beautiful ships, but i cry everyday be cause of the fact that i wont ever fly higher level amarr ships. starting to train amarr means you wont be very effective until you hit higher levels.
amarr requires a lot of maxed out support skills.
but when you reach that point you¦ll have the pleasure of the kind of ships like the Curse (me/ drools) and the Zealot. even the low cost armageddon is a fantastic killer with t2 guns.
almost makes me wanna buy a second hand amarr char

Edited by: Rh''jamiz on 07/07/2007 03:00:54 Well, glad to know I'm only handicapping myself for a little while! I still don't know whether or not to bother training lasers or if I should just go for projectile/hybrid. But I can tell drones are a must. I hate fighting those buggers.
Now all I gotta do is figure out how to make enough isk so as to keep myself well stocked with t2 ships and gear. I assume corporations help out a lot in that respect. ________ Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -LordHarold ([email protected]) |

bwahahahaha corps don't really help. If they -do- help you, they tend to lord it over your head like they just saved your mother from a burning building. So when something in the corp isn't going the way you'd like and you want to speak up, you'll have even less of a voice than you already do. Not to mention a lot of the corps in eve are run buy kiddies and kids are, well... kids. --

the trick is to find ebay accounts or ppl who join game wanna be uber right away and buy an account from forums they tend to fly megathrons with shield tanks and dread guristas BCU's *yummy* (you no who u are)
but tbh piracy is not very good at putting isk in ur pocket grab urself a jc to 0.0 somwere and go rat there eg Syndicate

I had to fix that, there is no such thing as solo PvP in EvE anymore, and if you do cross some it's a rare occasion, or it's a trap..
But thats why I use my Crusader if i'm moving solo :D, quick escapes if things go wrong FTW
