If any of you have read my posts b4 you will know that dispensing grief on farmers and mac miners is my favorite thing to do. Last night while I was sitting beside a jet canning farmer in my reaper flipping his ore into my can, the phone rang. It was my brother who asked me to step out the back door and grab the coffee and cookie that he had picked up for me at Fourbucks, and I complied. When I got back to my desk I noticed that my 87th reaper had been destroyed and that there was drones buzzing around my pod, and, the miners was flashing red. I could not have been happier. I looked over to my other comp and realized that my other pilot was in a ferox with a scram on and only a jump away. My pants started to get tight. I used my second pilot to warp over to me and had the pilot eject from the ferox, which I quickly boarded, locked the miner and blew it to smithereens. If the rox didnt have all that t2 shield stuff on it I would have PK'd xvjb in an instant, but loosing 160 mill worth of rigged ferox was not part of my plan. I spread the word to all the pilots in the 888th Anti Macro Assn and we have standardized all our ships so that any pilot can use the same ship and fittings and now when we go out we all fly the exact same ship. One guy will do the flipperoo in a rookie ship, one pilot sits outside the system in a ferox and waits.
Share tactics and play for the win. Oh, if you have the skills to fly an Itty 5 and want lots of free ore, we have a place for you.
Ps, there are over 45 active farmers within 5 jumps of Erme. I can't loot them all, but I can help you,
Rocket Man

You are right, I hope they never stop, my corp has made over 1 billion isk from them, it pays for all our ships, skill books and Quafe. I just wish CCP would change the rules a bit to force players with over 2 million skill points to be in Corps so we could attack without fear of getting conc'd.

Im not really understanding how you can make that sort of cash by stealing ore and blowing up their ships....

Let me do some 'splaining.
First, you need to believe that in the Sing Laison region we have recorded 312 active farmers and 109 macro miners. I will relay info from the system called Gallagarue which is a dead end .8 system with about 16 roid belts in it. Four of five of us will go in with our rookie ships and loacated the farmers, we have 2 pilots with Itty 5's that can haul about 40k m3. We are all ganged. We flip the cans, Itty warps to us, tracs the can and scoops the load and back to the station. There is only 1 station in this system. At times there is a farmer in each belt so you can figure the volume they are mining for us. Our refiner guy has 0 taken when we refine so we get it all back in mins which we either sell or turn into stuff to sell. Hum, a small side note says there that in Nausschie, Trosquersere and Gallagarue all the station that have Manufacturing abilities are empty because nobody is building stuff anymore, except us. We made 78 million in our first days, and now we go out in force and steal all the ore we can. We do not loot from players that are in Corps. Anybody that wants to join us and see how it works is more than welcome to apply.

The only thing we force you to do is bend over to pick up the gang invite, and then we gang you, like it or not it is the right of passage. We would like you to be able to fly a hauler though with about 10k m3 minimum, otherwise you will spend to much time dropping the cargo and not enuf time stealing it.
Convo or mail Betty Swallow's, Besmin, Reverse Osmosis or Commander Krispy for op times and locations.
Remember, Farmers and Macro Miners have a religious obligation to let those who need ore take as much as they want, or maybe that is just a rumour, but they haven't complained to much so I guess it is ok.

As much as I believe that killing macros whenever possible is a good thing, IMO the 'have neutral bring ship for pod to board' is a major exploit in bad need of examination.
It's an exploit for neutrals to remote rep POS shields & Outposts, it should likewise be considered an exploit to use a neutral party (or 'not KOS to the local NPCs' pilot) for the purposes of ship flipping.
Just my opin, tho.

I've dabbled in stealing from macroers. The ones I took from always wised up after a bit though and stopped dropping cans. They also never attacked with their mining ships. Lucky you to find a dumb one.

Okay, this is not an exploit, we are all corp members and operate as a unit, the game was designed to accomodate this and yes, while I am at war I have my mail set to 1 mil to prevent the zillions of replies I am getting to Rocketmans post. When we have finished roasting the corp's i will set it to 0.

How does one identify a macro-miner, anyway? Short of watching them all day long don't they appear just like a normal miner?

And usually get no reply, macro or not, as people don't look local and/or don't want to reply to players bothering them.
The usual solution by most "macrominer hunters" is to label macro anything they want to hunt, be it macro, farmer, regular miners, noob trying to mine for the first time.
And yes, I think that for at least 70% of them calling themselves "macro hunter2 is only a tiny veil of deceit, and they are simply ore thiefs.

The macro missioners/isk farmers are pretty easy to spot. They fly around in gangs with characters nammed odfie01 odfie02 odfie03 & etc, born within minutes of each other and still under their noob corp banner. I don't care too much about macrominers because I benefit from them but I suspect they are similarly identifiable.
As for ore thieves, they're the cost associated with high-sec jetcan mining. If you don't like ore theives, don't use jetcans.

The occasional loss of a jetcan is not a problem (it is still more cost effective that docking every time your hold is full in a covetor). What I dislike is people stealing giustyfing themselves as macrohunters, and even when confronted by the targets adamantly affirming they were stealing from a macro, and that the player is in reality only a farmer.
Seen that a good number of time in local.
If all they want is to steal ore, at least they should have the ball to admit it.
