Everything that required 2 or more Units per RUN didnt give correct numbers. Like All AMMO. Also Needed to add, Strontium Clathates to the Master Minerals list for Probe Building, didnt have it on the list. Going to Setup a FTP: and add a link for updating with in the Builder, for easier updates. You will need you char name for the user and the update password for download, witch I'll eve-mail out when as new builds are released. Thanks Sentry Skills. EXCEL-BuilderVer2.2

Sentry Skills	Posted - 2007.07.09 14:40:00 - [14] It needed a UBER UPDATE after I added the Invention Tab, I missplaced a few ))()(), so math was being done out of order. Fixxed Now. Also I had to add a "Does ME Effect Components?" Some BPOs effect them and some don't. It says No where on EVE-Onlines DATABASE or in EVE-Online Game about that, so I had to make a Yes or No Drop Box. Witch will work untill I get the feed back to Fill in the blanks. If you need the Update. Click your "Master Slots" Tab and then click the "Click Check for Update"... Prob need to fix the wording on that.. Anywho the link works. Enjoy Sentry

I am thinking we may want to maintain a seperate forum thread for these though. If you select Use Master Prices/NO on one slot, the other slots that had it selected for yes lose their prices for mineral build cost. I had played with a couple of items and decided to use custom pricing on mins as we mine some of the lower ends ourselves and noticed the anamoly. This will match the File to your computer. Their are a few drawbacks and gains. The file will not work on any other system but the one you give me for setup. Also each User now will have their own FTP Username and Password Accounts for updating. With IP tracking, Hostname and MAC addresses, The FTP will only allow that PC into the FTP. This shoud only take a few days for me Ver 3.0! Going to add some extras in with 3.0 - Another 10 Slots - Outposts - Total Materials Need for all 30 slots - Total M3 Need for each material/item and all 30 slots - Also Some Visual Data.

I did notice a couple issues with the latest version though. The T2 component prices aren't auto calculating based on the prices of the advanced materials and the total amount of advanced materials needed isn't auto calculating based on the number of T2 components that I need for production.

As objectively as possible I'll try give some feedback that can hopefully be used to improve on it. Positives: 1) It gives accurate numbers for single BPO production (for all those that I have checked) 2) Allows one to work out costs for any number of runs of any BPO 3) The Master override option is a nice feature Negatives: (please not this is for large scale production) 1) Does not keep a stock sheet that can be compared to build requirements 2) Limited to 20 Slots, which for me is completely inadequate 3) Does not take into account build time or PE into the equation 4) As a result of 3, it is not possible to anaylze ROI % or anything of that nature 5) Does not have a unified overview that gives all the key information on batch builds 6) The worksheet is locked so that I can not add anything additional that I need, and I can not colour code many of the cells (which I use to make things simpler to use) Overall if these are dealt with the spreadsheet could become a good tool, but as it stands right now I would recommed EVEmeep over it without any doubt. Even some of the free spreadsheets (found here) are superior in my honest opinion. A good try but needs work before it becomes useful for managed large scale production. Sincerely, Eefrit

So you cant break formuals. The Cells have been color coded since ver1.0, Where you can type, and where you cant. It is also divided into secection for easy input. One other thing You said. "please note this is for large scale production". How,..Why..Huh...? The Builder is used for both Large and Small Scale. I think it is the only builder that give you Titan and Outpost Specs....

Add advanced materials so you know how much it safes when building the components yourself. - Make summary of monthly stuff needed to build your slots. Mins, industrial goods, advanced materials... - Add PE to main blueprints you building so you know how much you can build each day/week/month/year It would be great if this sheet can produce a summary off all required materials, and how many t2 components i need to build each month to keep factories busy 100% of the time. The 1st question on the list is "Use Master Prices:" Yes Or No, if you select yes it will only use the prices you have set on the master sheet. if you select no it will do all the math for you with the comps, it will use the price from the master sheet for the numbers you are wanting, but you will need to fill in up to strontium. To the right of that their are boxes that you can put prices in if you are not using master prices, wicth it will only use the price in the green box if you is dif from master sheet. just a small user error on your part. Personally right now I use a heavily modified version of the "EVE_Universal_Spreadsheet.xls" (added rigs, T2 stuff, new items, bunch of other things). And I'm curious if your spreadsheet has any advantage for me. Want some blueprints?

Yep I do know about the export to a Web-Page 2 major problems with that. 1st is that this EXCEL-Builder is huge for an excel file it is about 8MB when you do an export like that it pull all the info from the file and coverts it in to HTML so you downloading a 8M html file.. eww. 2nd problem You can then save the webpage as a XLS and then it works just like it should. All the coding is in. So it wouldnt be a good idea for me. Also you cant exprot to HTML with locked sheets. Long Version I've seen references to Sentry Skills' production spreadsheet for a long time but the price of it (currently 75m isk) put me off. Yet many people use it in the production business. I've collected almost every other free spreadsheet I could get my hands on, plus created a few of my own to make up for missing features. All that ends now that I have Sentry Skills' spreadsheet. I literally was able to replace all of my other production spreadsheets except one (so thats like 8 others) with this one product. And I'm not sure I need the last one, of my own creation, either. The simple stuff first: This spreadsheet can calculate everything. I MEAN everything, too. All t1 items, all t2 items, all capital ships, all rigs, all components, all outposts, all of the new faction pos items. Everything. And it does it in a particularly great way. Anyone can make a spreadsheet that tells you the build cost of a t1 item. Hell, you can even find spreadsheets that tell you build costs for capital ships and components. But this one lets you choose how to calculate the cost. Do you want to input base numbers for each component, as if you bought them off the open market? Or do you want to build it from scratch, as if you own all the BPOs for the components? With a single click in one dropdown box you make the transition. This is good for capital ships, but GREAT for t2 items. Many capital ship builders do have the BPOs, so they will probably use the from scratch mode. But T2 producers rarely have the entire chain of subcomponents under their control and usually buy from the market. So this mode is great for them. All in all, its a great production calculation spreadsheet.

Friend or Enemy	Posted - 2007.09.19 22:04:00 - [107] Advanced Features While the "from scratch" mode has got to be the most valueable "simple" feature, this product is loaded with advanced features. First off, Sentry Skills constantly updates this product. Yes, he's still playing. Every new patch that has new items in it gets a new spreadsheet version with those items. Plus he also occasionally adds features, often from customer requests. Next we have the slot manager. This basically allows you to show what you are building in each of your manufacturing slots. The version I reviewed had 20 slot pages and a 20 slot comparison page, which seemed adequite to me. (I can do that planning in my head after all.) But others will find it useful for planning out large projects. And dont just gloss over those 20 slot pages. Each is a complete product page. This is extremely useful for what this product does that no other product does: Lets you compare different things, BEFORE YOU BUY THEM, to decide which will be more profitable, or potentially profitable. For example, you could put in a Drake on one slot, select the ME you are likely to research it to, then put a myrmidon on another slot with its likely ME. Then you can see all the stats and easily compare to see which you should invest in. The stats that it has are very, very impressive. It tells you the build cost, of course, and potential profit per item. But more importantly, it tells you how many you can make per day and how many days it will take to be "pay off" the initial BPO/BPC cost. It actually tells you how many runs to "overprofit" as he calls it AND how much time it will take, down to the hour. By showing you all the statistics, you can look at it and say "Sure, it would pay for the bpo if I can sell 22 items per day non-stop for 20 days, but if I only sell 6 a day, how long will it take?" It gives you the basic information you need to answer these questions. It works with invention too, did I mention that? The above feature is CRITICAL for invention, because a lot of people sell BPC's and you never quite know if a 9 run BPC of product X will actually be profitable if you buy the BPC. Well, now you can know, because this spreadsheet tells you. You can even enter in the different negative waste levels to make sure your cost to build is accurate. Another nifty advanced feature is that you can set what is producing the thing. By this I mean, normal station, a particular POS module, a special outpost, etc. They all have different time multipliers, none of which are documented well ingame. So having a nice little dropdown box where you just select the type of location, by name, of where you are producing is nice. A feature I never have seen before is a BPC profit caluclator, which is including on the same page. It lets you figure out what you should charge for your BPC's, or whether to make them at all, plus the usual how long it will take. The last really big advanced feature is the high cost materials projector. This part tells you what are the highest cost materials in your building process. This is helpful if you want to worry about the opportunity cost of your actions. For example, is it worth it to take a 10 jump round trip freighter jaunt to get that tritanium a little bit cheaper? Well, if it's your highest cost material, then maybe it is. This infomation is displayed in 3 ways: A chart and a list on each particular item, and also on the master materials page for ALL of your production slots. That can be really useful if you produce multiple products at one location.
Kaven Kantrix Two Brothers Mining Corp. Friend or Enemy	Posted - 2007.09.19 22:05:00 - [108] The Bad Ok, so no product is perfect, and this is no exception. It has a few minor things wrong with it, some of which will probably be fixed or added soon. First off, there is no way to enter into the spreadsheet the broker fee or sales tax for your item. So, when you look at the total build cost and try to calculate your profit, you better be careful if you have high priced, low margin items or you might actually loose money. (This is the only feature that I have on my own spreadsheet that I said above I might be keeping.) It's a minor detail, and I spoke to Sentry about it and he said he might be adding it soon. As long as your profit margin is greater than say 1.6%, you dont have to worry about it. In fact, if you just look at the profit margin % section you can be sure you wont fall prey to this, so its not like you are totally in the dark. (Besides, who wants to build 1.6% profit margin items anyway?!) Second, there are 2 GUI "problems" in my opinion. Both of them relate to doing Advanced Items. Advanced items are items that are made from other items, such as capital ships or T2 items as opposed to something like a t1 ship that is just made from the normal base minerals. The first problem is the "Use Master Prices" drop down. Thats what its labeled, but thats not what it means. It means "Use Master Prices for components". Ok, maybe this is a nitpick, but when you are trying to figure out how to use this very complex (though nicely presented) spreadsheet, little details like this can really slow you down. If you say "Yes" to use master prices, then it will look for the prices of all the components on the master price list. So, if you bought your capital ship components instead of built them yourself, you'd want to say yes and enter those values in. If you build everything "from scratch" then you want to select No and let the spreadsheet figure all that out from top to bottom (which it does exceedingly well). Note that saying No here will still take the prices of the minerals and base materials and use them unless you override them in a seperate section, which is a nice detail. IE you dont have to type them in again even though you said No. The second GUI problem is the highest cost material list/chart when scratch building. If you scratch build a capital ship, on the slot sheet it will show you which component is the highest cost material. It doesn't tell you there which mineral is. Now, it's apropriate to tell me which component, but I also want to know which mineral too. To get that information, I have to go to the master price sheet where it lists all the minerals for all my slots. If I have no other slots filled, just the capital ship one, then that information is the highest mineral material costs. So, I CAN get the information, its just not where you'd expect to find it. There is one more, partially related problem with the spreadsheet. Again, when using advanced items from scratch and again with the high cost materials, but this time with T2 production. If I tell the spreadsheet I want to build a t2 ship from scratch, it calculates everything very nicely. But, when it displays the high cost materials, it lists the minerals twice. It lists them first for the base t1 item, and also for whatever is needed in the t2 item. With R.A.M.'s and such, you might see Tritanium in the list 2 or 3 times, which is annoying. It should add them all up and just display it as one. Now, realistically, this last issue isn't really much of an issue. You can still see it all, and you can do some rough mental arithmetic to figure it out. The stuff that's repeated, like Tritanium, isn't going to be your highest cost anyway, and it DOES add it up on the Master Materials page too. But hey, you gotta list the good with the bad if it's a unbiased review.

This is a production and planning spreadsheet, which has a lot of sales stuff on it. It's not a dedicated sales spreadsheet. Still, its SOOO close to being perfect, I'd love to add in just a couple more features to really make it the only spreadsheet I ever have to use. I already talked about the broker fee and sales taxes above, so I wont talk about that again. The Use Master Prices mechanic is also too granular. I cant tell it to use master prices from SOME of my advanced components, but that I bought these other ones. That would be a nice hybrid feature to have. (Maybe check boxes next to each advanced component to say whether it should be using master or not?) The only other thing I'd like to be able to input in this spreadsheet is this: How long till overprofit if I DON'T sell my max production every day. My personal spreadsheet has a "Projected Sales Volume" on it. It's basically my guestimation of how many units of my product I can sell per day. So, for example, it doesn't matter if I can MAKE 8 Ravens per day if I can only expect to SELL 5 of them per day. I'd really like to be able to put in the 5, if I choose, to override the max possible built per day of 8 so I can see how long to overprofit at that rate. This could be a seperate spot, not necessarily overiding anything, just displaying extra info elsewhere if I choose to enter that in. Aside from that, I can't think of anything else I could possibly need to run a production and sales empire, end to end. Summary From start to end, this product lets you decide what to produce, how much profit it will make, how long to get your money back, and how much capital and time you will need to do it. For every item in the game. There are many spreadsheets that do a little bit of this, but no other does it all. The most important part of this spreadsheet is its ability to save you money before you ever do anything. It can tell you what BPOs to buy, and which to avoid. It can tell you the customary prices of T2 BPOs. It helps you compare everything, in every category, to figure out the best way to fill your precious 10 build slots (or up to 20, if you have some alts). And it also gives you the basic information you need to decide if it's better to invest 1b in a product that will get you 6b profit per year with a 500b capital investment or to spend 1b on a BPO that will get you only 3b per year but only requires 1.5b capital investment. Finally, it can also tell you which parts of your operations you need to optimize to increase profits and decrease costs. It's all there, just waiting to help you become rich, or richer.

Witch is a main reason for the web base database. 2nd question. The 1st (Web) get 3 different files from my web server and imports them into the builder for quick database fixes, which do not require any change in builder is self. Now for (No Web), this still connects to my web server for prices only, the database is built into the excel file. Also, I do not use any kind of macros at all. Excel would tell you about any macros use when the file opens. With web security you have nothing to worry about, it open 3 small text files, witch i have listed below. http://65.33.133.189/Prices.txt http://65.33.133.189/ListData.txt http://65.33.133.189/Database.txt Now you can see if you disconnect your net and open the builder it will tell you it cant access these files at these paths. Also with your prices import I have no clue what you go going on their.

Only thing is that i am using the German Version of Excel or exact Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (11.8169.8172) SP3. Maby there is some sort of bugs inside like the 2007 Version has atm.
