Forgive me if this is written somewhere else as I am a noob to piracy, but what are the different forms of piracy? So far I know of:
Can Flipping
Ore Thieving
Gate Camping
Attacking Miners/Players in belts.
Hunting players in complexes.
Are there other techniques or forms of piracy that us pirate noobs can use to start getting some kills, ransoms and experience. I know how to use the scanner now, much thanks to Na'Kunni and about 2 days of scanning but I still have yet to get the jump on anyone in a belt or trick anyone into mutual pvp. Also, where have all the carebears gone? I've gone through counntless .04 .03 .02 .01 systems looking for haulers and haven't seen anyone. From reading some of the other pirate noob posts I can only assume I'm doing something wrong.

usually you can find people in belts in 0.4 near highsec... carebears will try to sneak in to rat and will start slacking with their checks on local while being distracted by the rats

it also depends on the low sec area you are in, some are busy, others i have seen just seem to be empty most of the time. and ratters in belts seem to be getting rare .
keep looking and you will find people to shoot/kill/ransom eventually

true. but i love to hunt solo in smaller ships such as a cepter or af. in low sec people rat more in cruisers/battlecruisers so are targets for my small ships. most people in 0.0 rat in a battleships.

Another form of piracy is high-sec ganking, which is usually very profitable. Fit out a full damage dealer BC, a brutix or drake works very nicely. Fit a passive targeter and a cargo scanner. Fly to a .5 or .6 system with alot of traffic. Your target are afk autopiloting noob haulers. Scan them as they approach the gate for valuable cargo. When you find a nice juicy target, blow it up. Have an alt or a partner-in-crime wait in a hauler to scoop up the loot. Concord will pop you, but you wont lose much isk if u fit t1 stuff and insure ur ship. Also, pick a gate that does not have concord on it already.

Im based around rephirib, and in the last 3 days ive killed a cruiser, 2 frigs and fought another cruiser and a another frig (lost goddamnit :P), and i dont play 24/7 or anything. infact i spent most the time ratting in my cruiser, whenever another ratter turns up

when i started piracy in Sinq Laison i got up to 10 players a day, from frigate to battleship.
these days im happy getting 2-3 a day

in klepto, i find that very hard to believe, or do you not sit at a gate 23/7 like tiller 
Well anyways I took Criip for s pin around Jeon/Sinq din't catch much but we managed to ransom a Covertor, got him an 2 of his friends abit of isk. They welcome to join me again if they like.
