I find your responses far more agressive than is warranted by this slight inconvenience. So I fail to understand why you respond this way, can you explain that?
YEARS of ignored petitions and bug report submissions with no changes. Lets say I have thick skin and a toxic view of CCP at the moment.
Originally by: Martosh Toma I would think that a simple alteration suggestion in the design forums, or perhaps a bug report where you give an example of how a correctly informative messagebox text would look like is far more likely to affect change of that message box.
Been there. Done that.
Originally by: Martosh Toma CCP cannot introduce an enforced isk loan system because it would be to open for abuse that would be much worse than simple scamming.
Where the heck did I ask for that? What are you on about??

So all this vileness is because you insist that ccp immedeately alters this one messagebox text to make it a little less usable for scammers?

Check general. There is a nice post that outlines 60+ long outstanding issues flagged by the community in which CCP has failed to address.
This issue is but one of possibly HUNDREDS that CCP has failed to address for months going on years.
Instead, they quick fix things that effect big allainces and bring the servers down for everyone to do so.
Coupled with my own personal history of countelss petitions, feedback, bug submission and forum posts has made me VERY bitter.
Where others may have given up, or quit the game entirely, I have perservered.
You should thnak people like me. We get the job done unlike the silent majority to bend over and take it.
Which one are you?
Now answer my question.

Or are you simply guilty of not bothering to read my original post and avoiding answering me.

I simply assumed that people cannot be this bitter about such a simple and small defect. Sadly it is a mistake I make more often.

What I amn on about?
I thought about what I first hoped for when I read loans would be introduced, and what I missed when they actually introduced loans. My experience is that in eve the advantage is with the scammer, there is no real repercussion against scamming, nor a means to get even or force them to return their gains
I had hoped that the introduction of loans would enable people to run a bank, even though I understand that introducing te required features to run it eve would either end up a useless code bloat or far too abussble in the existing EVE enviroment.

I see.
Personally I would prefer there to be a 'bank' type of loan interface as well.
Person A has an expensive BPO. Person B Has loads of ISK but doesn't want to invest in a BPO.
Person A drops off the BPO in a locked hanger at a station that nobody can touch. Person A loans Person B say, 80% of the NPC value of the BPO and has exclusive rights to use it to produce copies/ship etc with it at the station. Or sell the access rights for someone to do so.
After a predetermined amount of time, Person A either pays back the loaned $$$+ interest, or the BPO reverts ownership to Person B.
Loans in real life usally have some sort of title attached to them that the mortgagee can't abuse. (like foreclosing on a house for no reason other than to be a jerk for example)
CCP's version of collateral is to hand over the asset. This is crazy and scammer friendly.
CCP could have implemented something MUCH more robust system if they put a minimal amount of time and thought into it.
OR... gawd forbid open up suggestions on the subject an a specialised forum and hash it all out before launching it and discovering its pitfalls.

The not so funny thing is: The current contract interface is not capable of offering the options ccp mentioned as one of the things they wanted to realize in the contract system
What would be needed to do that would need adding the ability to set aditional items/isk to be handed back on copletion of the loan For usebility as a banking tool we need the option to set material collateral on the loan.
Wat would make the interface much more intresting would be the ability to set a fee/period (both fee and period customizeble that would result in a payeble bil for the person taking the loan (no forced payment) (setting a % might be nice but is less versatile than setting a simple fee)
of coarse the message box need to be changed to properly list all the relevant contracts details.

Heh.. I was looking for this thread when I saw that announcement.
I wonder what lit a fire under their butts over this issue after it has been outstanding for so very long? I doubt VERY much it would have been any of my emails / threads exposing the matter.
Nevertheless I feel completely vindicated in my position in this thread.
Just note however, CCP haven't solved the problem. They just quai-addresed it. We still are left with a p[ig of a loan system which is at best a worthless tool as it stands now. It needs to be revamped, or removed.
Originally by: "GM Grimmi" We will take action against those that take advantage of faulty game mechanics
First off somebody in CCP allowed this situation to continue for years. This was a GLARING flaw in the game and allowed scammers the opportunity to ruin the enjoyment of EvE for hundreds of paying customers.
This is completely unacceptable and that person hopefully is no longer in that position.
Secondly, to all those who suggested I was making a moutain out of a molehill. You simply have no compassion or forethought to the effects exploiters (becasue that is what they are) have towards others in this game.
Unfortunately many of these apathetic people also work within the confines of CCP to allowed this matter to go unaddressed for so long.
Hackers, isk sellers, exploiters all server to destory the game and creates a unhealthy atmophere.
I'll just finish up by quoting the 'market master' himself.
Originally by: "Shadarle" if you fall for it you deserve it
Just wanted to remind everyone where Shadarle's position stands for exploiters and those that fall victom to them.

I like that this scam is evil due to 'faulty game mechanics', but exploiting lag to change isk amounts when using the trade window isn't.
I think scams are morally dodgy, but FFS be consistent CCP. Allow them all, allow none, or fix the game mechanics of the ones that you dislike. Arbitrary rulings are teh suck.

Especially when they come months if not years after it has first been raised as an issue.

Read the entire thread, I don't really see why anyone flamed the OP for the first post and its contents, it clearly demonstrated another one of CCP's screwups.
Good thread tbh. I just think its a shame that rather then fix the problem CCP have just said OMG WE BAN YOU IF YOU USE!!!!

If using a bad interface to gain an advantage over someone should be a bannable offense, then everyone who plays eve deserves to be banned.
Taikun, you seem to have a direct wire to the powers that be. Could you please start a moral outcry about the unreadable font? Noone cared when i raised the issue...

Excellent point!
I argue that it should not be so given the glut in user interface design professionals in the market. Dime a dozen.

No direct line beyond the same route everyone else has. Perhaps I just use it more frequently and with more vigour than anticipated by CCP. As for the font, i'd like the ability to change it myself. Good call.

I don't have any delusions that my tiny post on the issue had anything to move CCP's position on the matter.
But it is refreshing to see a step in the right direction for market based trading. Appreciate your commentary.
