Any petitions involving the name 'lofty29' probably get deleted on sight. Because there's probably a lot, and yes, it is legal use of game mechanics. - sig removed due to inappropriate content, email us for more information - Deckard ([email protected])

erm dosnt this come under the tos;
15. You may not do anything that interferes with the ability of other EVE Online subscribers to enjoy the game or web site in accordance with its rules. This includes, but is not limited to, making inappropriate use of any public channels within the game and/or intentionally creating excessive latency (lag) by dumping cargo containers, corpses or other items in the game world.

Well technically, if you read it strangely, you could conceive the line of 'Intentionally causing lag' as can-art. But as it would normally be at a planet or moon, there wouldn't be much of a problem as they are rarely visited .
Be aware we've had players banned for this. Oveur himself commented on the quality of the work and promptly banned him. GMs had to remove the cans manually they weren't best pleased took em hours. Although it was a seriously big and I'm mean huge. You could warp across it. /start sig I love old characters that post 'I've beeen playing the game three years' when I know their account has been sold on. /end sig |

Yes but in that case, wasn't the work offensive? ---

But it did cause lag because it was huge, i can't stress enough it was enormous. If you keep things relativeley small you should be OK. It was 'only' a temporary ban. Although a few of those and its 'game over man'.
We've got a screenie somewhere from the test server. I'll dig it out.
EDIT: Found it, doesn't do it justice. I'll have to host it later when I get home. /start sig I love old characters that post 'I've beeen playing the game three years' when I know their account has been sold on. /end sig |

If you don't intentionally create lag for players via can art (A.K.A. put them somewhere where people don't need to go like planets), then there's nothing wrong with it. ------------ LAG - Hopefully teen-appropriate now. IBTL! IBDS/DC! IBTC! 1st in a BoB post! And other such forum tom-foolery. |

I like can art, at the right places, without long names advertising something, but the visual art could be fun. Like outside of a belt
"Roids r'us"
"Monster Rocks"
"Veldspar has feelings"
I mean the occasinal warp in and seeing that would make me laugh hysterically, but as I said @ the right places and used scarcely.

Edited by: Corporati Capitalis on 09/07/2007 16:32:38 Hmm, those two examples seem a bit too... "basic", tbh. Now if you could do something like the TIE Interceptor in Aufay or the shark, wherever it was, that would be a whole other story.
I'd order a 10:1 megathron replica right away. Or a 100:1 Templar one, complete with the famous meme. Or something.
Originally by: Kharadran Sullath Altough the best thing would be if CCP made an option for ingame player-made advertising for ingame corps/services on the Concord billboards. That would be even more epic.
Or just reverse the freeform contract nerf, so people can make them public again.
Disallow links in the description or something else to prevent scams, for all I care, but don't give in to whiners and nerf a perfectly fine and usable feature.

Like I said doesn't do it justice. This did cause lag and it was near a station.
This thing was hundreds of kilometres across. It's out of scale with the station it was sat way, way, way behind. You could warp between letters.
