Okay I'll be getting my Rapture tomorrow and the next logical step is to work up to a Tempest. It seems very far away so I'm curious, what's the best way to get there? Preferrably solo as I don't have buddies to guard me while I mine rocks =(

My trick was trading , buying mexallon for 10 11 isk and then selling it for 19.33 isk to NPC corps it takes long but you will get there

Having a Rupture makes NPC pirate hunting for you very easy. Pirate hunting can make you your millions but could take awhile.
Ultimately it will take you sometime unless you have people helping (ie. a corporation) as you cannot mine higher grade ores without having a combat half to back you up while you focus on aquiring your ore.
EIther trade, though most trade is nill currently, or NPC hunting.

Yeah, right now trade is kind of pointless. Sometimes I get lucky and find a trade route worth the time to do it but lately I havn't seen any that are worth doing.
Level 3 kill missions seem to be the way to go right now. Once I get my rapture I'll focus on those. If anyone else has any idea's, let me know.

Personally i think 1 of the best ways to make isk at the mo is to do agent missions, although it is boring.
I try to devote 40% of my eve time to doing agent missions.
I have 4 different lvl3 agents at the same station i do missions for, i make 500k to 1mill an hour doing their missions just on the isk rewards, the tech2 items they give as rewards half the time recycle very nicely and praticaly double my income for the agents.
Not to mention the odd implant reward which you could sell or install and speed up training time.
Ohh dont forget that most tech2 gear gives mega and zyd when recycled, keep it towards making your own bs

For all of you dudes....
Getting a battleship is SUPPOSED to take a long time. Why do you think castor did what it did? It will become somewhat more difficult with the next patch too i guess, due to the grid removal. (what i mean with that, well, i wont tell :o) )

It is, and I understand that but there are some ways to get it that are faster then others. Personally I could just take out multiple loans and then just use the battleship to pay them back but I don't want to do it that way. It's only as long as you make it.
