Edited by: super canard on 11/07/2007 10:07:15 After 2 years - on several accounts / toons, I believe I tried most of the weapons eve had to offer...
I've been thinking about new types of weapons for a while, and thinking about eve, the time, and the technology "that could be available" -
Number 1: a weapon that physically enters an opponent ship, and launch an EMP from withing the ship - hence disabling all systems - of course, for playing, this could be like a temporary effect (20 seconds with everything down? ) - rather than totally frying out everything electrical on board :).
Number 2: sniper shot skills - why not be able to target specific areas of the ships?
Number 3: Harpoon - physcially attaching yourself to another ship - picture this on a t2 frig - from a BS - so much for going fast - now you're hauling me :) ^_^ - basically 2 options there - either it's a bigger ship, and it drags you at it's speed, or it can't drag you, and it stops, or goes at your own max speed (eventually the cable will snap?)
Number 4: Viruses - Is eve world a totally safe world virus vise? :) - surely a little virus here there - could be based on the EMP weapon design, but uploading a virus (whatever effects would be interesting there :) )-
Number 5: Ice guns - creating a new type of damage - cold - After all, if you target a ship's engine/ reactor, and blast let's say liquid nitrogen at it ... surely the ship will either get damaged, or it'll slow down? :) (temp effect most likely).
Number 6: Signal Jamming - this is more an "improvement" rather than a new weapon - LEt's make the jamming more obvious - the target list could become "corrupted" / "blurry" - adding some effects there would just look kewl :)
Number 7: Alchool - are we all sober in eve? - I'd like my toon to get drunk sometimes - and see how accurate he is while flying drunk - (could be double fun for the eve radio lemmings :D )-
Number 8: selling a skill - If you know a skill at L5, why can't you teach someone else that same skill (maybe up to L3 or 4? ) - you could of course charge a fee for it, and the learning time could be maybe, 15-20% faster than learning from the skill books?
Number 9- pick your crew - it'd be nice if you could hand pick your crew from a list of npc's - each of them bringing their own expertise and bonuses (example: scoty in start trek - he would bring the repairs speed up, and engine's efficiency up and so on...) - this could open up a new trading area as you could trade crews with other players maybe? :)
number 10 - I'm sure this has been said before - ship customization - I want to be able to changee the color of my ships :D - or add paintings onto them :D -
number 11 - thanx for the game guys :D
