If you have an alt you can use to provide yourself with leadership skills you can replace a shield recharger and add a PDU, this will allow for fitting a warfare link which will improve your overall tank. It should be affordable for a wormhole user, but is still quite a bit pricier then a drake. The only benefits you get for it are a couple of extra bcu's while still having enough tank and the warfare link can help out when doing them with friends, in which case you'll be able to slap on a 4th bcu without problems

In both cases it was slow but it is eminently do-able. I have failed to solo in maelstrom, although suspect it can be done with a little more skill / care / patience than I could muster at the time. Maelstrom has no trouble killing the tougher C3 rats but has difficulty tanking them long enough to do so. Having lived in several C3s for quite a while now I have had the chance to watch many raiding visitors run, or try to run, the sites solo. The dominant solo raider ship I have seen has been the nighthawk and it has little difficulty clearing the sites. I have also seen the minmatar and Amarr field command ships (sleipnir and absolution), but not their gallente counterpart, as well as a selection of HACs ... although I never did see any of the HACs complete the sites. I had a golem visitor once, and he seemed to have little difficulty but was not terribly quick. By a great margin the most frequent visitor raider ship type I have seen has been the tengu ... solo or in company. We can build and sell pretty much every ship. Check my bio for details. Actually, a faction shield booster is pretty much required any way you put it. But a complex C-type makes tank a non-worry. Nighthawk can also do it, but I haven't tried any other ships. Could probably pull it off in most marauders though. -Arazel
