Edited by: The Messenger on 11/07/2007 19:34:18 Recently there was an incident where smartbombs were mistaken for sensor boosters and large scale poddage followed. Now, said player is embarking on an epic quest. It is a quest for returning sec. status to the positives.
So I guess my question is, what is the fastest way to regain sec? The current ratting increase seems very low. Only gaining sec every 15 mins and gaining nothing for the first 15 minutes seems like a waste of time and hopefully gets changed.
This is a PVP oriented game after all. Make the penalties for unconsensual combat a little less severe. After all, the more PEW PEW the better. Better for the pvpr's sanity who might spend hours looking for a decent target, better for the production corps who are making a killing on resale, and better for the victims who... who am I kidding, it sucks for them haha! |

The game is supposed to be PvP-oriented, and the gameRS are supposed to move to 0.0 at some point. So, as you pvp successfully you lose sec status.
It's basically CCP's way of taking off your training wheels wether you like it or not. -----------------------------------------------

Sucks when that happens...they need better labels on those things. After my accident I went back to 0.0 and ratted till me eyeballs fell out. It might take a bit but if get some rat BS's you can get a .18 to .22 boost per increase. Now you said 15 minutes? Me and my mates have been seeing about 11 top 12 minutes.

I disagree with that statement. Empire pirating and 0.0 pirating are seperate entitys. In fact, pirating 0.0 is in my experiance much easier than empire.
The fact of the matter is, penalizing an attack in low sec empire so harshly has a negative effect on that players experiance. Although I agree there should be a penalty, the current one is much too harsh. Not only is it severe, but its not in any way dynamic. No matter what ship you kill, you lose the same sec. Thats like somebody destroying someone's bike getting into the same trouble as someone blowing up an airliner. I think the current penalty for ship destruction should be dropped by 30% and be applied to battleships. Then the penalty for lesser tier ships should be reduced by 10%. Killing a frig class ship should do hardly anything to your sec.

Fastest way I know of: 1. Go to a .0 system with an as low as possible true sec standing that is bordered by another similar system 2. Set up a chain in a belt in each system that has 1 bs with highest bounty 3. Warp to prepared chain-spawn and Kill the chosen BS (ignore the rest of the spawn) 4. Warp to gate and jump to the other prepared sytem then war 5. [If] Sec status < Desired sec status [And] boredom < boredom tolerance [Goto] 3
keep an eye on local and hide if there are hostiles. Should you kill the ships faster that they respawn then you could try preparing 2 belots in each system and alternating Key is the session change between kills otherwise you only get one sec ajustment for the biggest ship you kill every 15 mins.
Warning: killing the ships will also cause a standing loss with the owning corp and faction. negative standings are harder to repair than negative sec status

Edited by: Wynnona on 11/07/2007 20:25:05 I wonder if those people that happened to loose their ships/pods to your mistake feel that the punishment for your misdeeds is "too harsh". For that matter I wonder if anyone who might have lost a ship or pod in empire space feels the sec loss system is even remotely equitable. My guess is that they feel the aggressor got off way too easy. You should probably just suck it up and deal with it. What's that most common of pirate sayings? Adapt or leave. Oh and if you go can I have your stuff?

How? Is there anyplace that how to do this is explained already?
I often hear people referencing "chaining" or setting up a chain - but never have I heard how to do this explained. -----------------------------------------------

You should be able to fix -10, -1.9 inside a week ratting in 0.0, no probs.
Just shoot a BS every 10 mins. u get the sec increase @ the end of the first ten mins, (not that you dont get it, its just delayed)
i am working on my sec now - its like an elevator atm.
