Its no secret that there has been a verbal war for some time but this is the first real combat hostility. Today I had to make a trip to our HQ system to place some more blueprints into research slots. Upon my arrival I find Jade in local, somewhat surprised we proceed to have a conversation about the war and such. At that time I was in my blackbird just returning from eggheland where carried out combat operations against gallente targets.
Next half hour or so I and Jade spared or at least tried to. Out of about 4 engagements first three were nothing more then positioning game and almost no firing. Jade constantly tried to put a huge gap between us to bring to bear her mighty guns. I was simply dampening her to avoid the artillery, few stray missiles and torpedo's flew but no real damage done to either. Mind you this was a game between my blackbird and Jades tempest. Unfortunately for me I didn't bring the proper ew equipment on this trip so no way to lock down a tempest. Best I could do was bluff and dampen her or something to that effect. After 3 uneventful meets during the forth we decided to charge at each other with predictable outcome. I had to limp away with 10% armor left on my BB with small to no damage on the tempest.
Earlier Jade mentioned that she would like for me to come out in my bs and fight. So we decided that will be the best option at this point. I took off to go get my battleship which was 7 jumps away. In the meantime while we talking I am still attempting to avoid her and she's trying to kill me on sight. Around this time a few more Jericho members pop in local.
After about 20 minutes I return to the system to find even more Jericho members in local. Of course I proceed to dock where I find 3 Jericho battleships docked around the station all have max number of drones out. I turn on my mwd and cruise into the station unharmed, one locked me in time but whether he would have fired will never be known.
I address Jade in an attempt to find out what they are doing? As far as I knew we had an agreement to do 1 on 1 combat. After some quick chat they brush it off under the pretence that they would not have fired. Another five minutes later I am fitted for combat and we again reaffirming that this will be a 1 on 1 combat with no interference from anyone. This time Jade asks if her corp mates could take her spot as they are eager to fight. I see no problem with that as long as its 1 on 1. I noticed that the corp mates had domis and at least one raven, at this point I am hoping that they don't send out the raven to the first duel. That's like my worst nightmare having to deal with a raven.
I also suggested that perhaps someone should record the event for historical value. We all agree that another jericho member can be present to to film but not to do anything else. As far as I understood this person would be in a small ship per my request.
With everything ready I fly out to a planet and give Jade the planet name so she can send the first challenger. Of course my fears come true and a raven shows up, I am getting a little worried at this point. After a brief pause we begin our fight but we are over 80km apart trying to slowly close the gap. The raven fires off a couple volleys of missiles and as they are slowly approaching me another domi jumps in. I of course immediately warp out to another planet as this is not what I agreed to. After some additional conversations in local we figure out that that was the camera man, after some hesitation I agree to allow a bs camera man. With everything settled again I warp back to the previous planet where the two ships are waiting for me.
Combat starts pretty much right away as me in my typhoon and the raven exchange fire. After about 5 minutes of non stop exchange of missile and turret fire I hear a new sound. Quickly checking I now see that the "camera man domi" is now attacking me as well. I am getting ****ed a little now and ask why he is firing at me amidst the raging battle. I was doing very well against the raven too, he was down to about half armor and I was yet to loose half my shield. I had to make a quick decision and I decided to stay and fight with the hope to at least finish the raven (if he doesn't warp out). The battle continued for another 2 minutes and the raven was really close to dying at which point he warped out. I cant blame him I would have tried to do the same if my ship was about to blow up. The second "camera man" battleship was doing next to no damage to me so even with him on my back it didn't change the dynamic of the fight when it became 2 on 1. I was still with healthy shield and most of my capacitor. With the raven gone I turned my attention to the "camera man" and after less then 30 seconds and half his shield gone he warped out as well. Both left a bunch of drones in space when they withdrew, I didn't want to risk killing them as any other jerichos could have warped in at any time.

Soon after I park at my station trying to find out why the rules of engagement were broken. After all Jades word was on the line here. The reply was less then satisfactory. Basically I was told that things got out of control and all rules were of from now on. Take what you will from this and I must say that it was a lot of fun at least for me. I think that this first serious contact is only the beginning of the UCAF vs. Jericho Fraction war. It seems that Jericho is not a paper tiger they sometimes seem to be, there were around 6 Jericho pilots in the local system most with battleships.
I urge honorable and brave Caldari pilots to join the fight against Jericho and their despicable actions. If you are interested in joining the fight please visit the UCAF Page.

Firstly, I will say that Pojo was very brave to attack my Tempest with his Blackbird. I did repeatedly warn him in local that he had no chance and should go and get a bigger ship. (Or that I could go and fetch a cruiser). So it was no surprise that the engagement ended with Pojo running and a madcap chase through 3-4 warp locations. He did well to stay alive.
Of the fight with Gan Ning. This is all I can say of the engagement (being remotely placed in system as agreed).
The engagement began, Gan Ning flooded the theatre with missiles in an awsome display of violence and Pojo failed to lock Gan's offensive capability and seemed to face almost certain death. He ran.
Then it seems Pojo re-tooled his starship with racial special jammers to lock Gan's loadout and returned to the fight.
My pilots asked for permission to destoy the Lame Duck battleship immediately since he had voided the terms of the engagement by fleeing and retooling with specific equipment.
I refused the immediate destuction request, but reconsidered quickly, and told my pilots that they could destroy Pojo en mass if it appeared that his retooling session had delivered an unstoppable combat advantage.
Sadly, it appeared that it had, and Pogo swiftly jammed Gan Ning with his replacement modules.
This, I decided, just wasn't cricket and gave the nod to my pilots.
Thus ended the formal arranged duel phase of the war and ushered in the no-holds barred full-on combat section.
And thats that,
Lets have no progaganda nonsense and silly talk. The fact of the matter is that the Lame Ducks declared war on JF and war is exactly what they may have.
If they reconsider their desire for combat they may of course retract their concord notification and return to lawful pursuits.
Love and peace

Just to clear things up at no time did I retool my Typhoon setup. The station I came from was camped as I am sure it was during the combat, they would have seen it. The only ew that was done by me was sensor dampening and if anyone knows anythign about the Typhoon they know it has next to 0 ew capability.
The reason I left the first round was as simple as another bs coming in. I was bracing to take about 20+ cruise missile which I could do without loosing shields. I would have used up much cap but the raven was close to my lock and he would have been dampened shortly. I simply could not risk having another bs hanging around when I am about to take a ton of hits. If I stayed and took the hits I still could have held my own against the fof missiles that the raven had. But I would be in far to weak a condition to potential deal with second bs.
I was talking in local the entire time and I have record to prove everything. None of the things Jade is implying were reltated to me to be addressed. As far as local was concerned the first challenge was spooked by second bs, second one was fair right up to the point where second bs engaged.

Come come Pojo, lets not be silly, how could you be "spooked" by the battleship that was clearly flagged as a camera vessel. But its okay, I don't hold it against you that you ran twice.
Its war, there are no rules.

Erm, dude, it has the same EW capabilities as any other ship with mid slots. Infact a ship with just 1 mid slot has EW capabilites..

Dude please, even my black bird makes a better ecm ship. Compared to typical ship that perform ecm duties Typhoon is seriously lacking mid slots and worse range to apply them. The only bs thats worse for ecm is Armagedon with just 3 med slots.
If you going to combat you going to bring at least a shield booster and a hardner leaving with 2 slots for ecm. Good luck jamming a bs with that.

... 4 mid-slots and high scan resolution on the Typhoon, and the knowledge of enemy's ship type... what more would you want? ^^;

I would like to be able to boost shields up after fof cruise and drones chew at me. I would like to have a decent target range (typhoon has the worst one of all bs's), to get something decen one of the mid slots would have to go. I would like to have some hardners so that I can stay alive long enough to kill the guy. That leaves me with 1-2 med slots for ecm and thats not even including scramblers and webbers.
Typhoons ecm capabilities are pretty much summed up by sensor dampners. Typhoons role is to dish out damage not pretend to be a bb or a scorp. Why are talking about this everyone know this crap.

But what of the Caldari ships? Why are you fighting a war for the Caldari people in a Minmatar rustheap?

To be fair to Pojo he was flying Caldari earlier in the evening. (That is until i put a few 1400 caliber holes in the side of his Blackbird from the "Minmatar rustheap" I was flying at the time.)

The Typhoon came from our deep space research and testing facility. It was being studied there to find weakness. There are a great deal of minmatar living in Gallente Federation and as such we may encounter their technology. The researchers felt that while lab work is good real combat test are better.
Me being one of the test pilots this opportunity was just too good to pass up.

Thats interesting, the Lame Ducks stole a Minmatar prototype to test its combat effectiveness in preparation for formal hostilities against Minimatar citizens working the Federation?
Good heavens, whatever next?

I think it would be more accurate to say that I survived the battle, the second bs only engaged near the halp point for the entire battle. Hes lasers were not doing as much damage as they should have been, clearly he had a setup issue.
Under normal condition I have little chance to defeat a well setup raven.

"I would like to be able to boost shields up after fof cruise and drones chew at me."
4 launcher hardpoints provide nice defense from incoming missiles. Drones have limited range of operation -- 45 km max, iirc.
"I would like to have a decent target range (typhoon has the worst one of all bs's), to get something decen one of the mid slots would have to go."
70+ km Typhoon offers is quite enough; and since you'll be running 3x specific ecm and the sensor booster it'll get up to ~110 km.
"I would like to have some hardners so that I can stay alive long enough to kill the guy."
... His guns are jammed and can't hit you. His missiles can't hit you because you can shoot them down before they cross the distance. His drones can't hit you because you sit too far (it'd take drones over two minutes to get to you if they even could do that in the first place)
What are you trying to harden yourself from, exactly? Harsh words? :s
