With drone navigation at 5, drone tracking is a little less then ideal, might we get a skill to counter the double edged blade of drone navigation?

Sometiems its better to pull your drones off a frig then immediatly put them back on again - they hit better on the approach

I thought Drone Sharpshooting was there to counter this problem. Sure it doesn't give them extra tracking, but it increases the optimal range at which the drones orbit, thus reducing the angular velocity. ---

drone nav doesn't impact orbit speed, just the approach. it didn't used to be this way, but CCP fixed it somewhere between rev I and rev II.
so don't worry about it.

I had a heck of a time with some Dire Guristas frigs a couple of days ago. I had them webbed and the Ogre IIs still couldn't hit them. Had to turn the web off and wait for the drones to get a couple of lucky shots in. Maybe they were stuck humping a roid ore something.

I have found that drones often don't hit when they're orbiting. My hobgoblin IIs have had trouble in the past in hitting an inty, I assume warrior IIs would have even more trouble because they're much faster. ------------

Yes, it does apply to the orbit speed. Unless there is some reason my warrior II orbit at exactly 1035, when I have drone nav 3, and no drone nav comp fitted.

I simply just stopped at Drone Nav III so I could use the Webifier drones (which are sweet goodness on a sniping ship with a couple drone link augs). I feel sorry for those with higher skill because this is a problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All drone bays should replace two of their combat drones with TP drones! Woohoo!
Although some math as to whether or not TP drones would be more effective on missile ships as opposed to combat drones would be nice... anyone got a link? I'm sure this has been done. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

as of patch build 3805 http://myeve.eve-online.com/updates/patchnotes.asp?patchlogID=32
"Drone Navigation Skill now no longer gives bonus to orbit velocity."
The skill was originally intended to boost only the MWD, but didn't work properly for a while.
