You mac users that can get eve operating on a mac can apparently now play eve on your iPhone, or any game for that matter.
The application that can make this happen is here:
http://code.google.com/p/telekinesis/
Here is a video of someone doing it for WoW:
http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/114249/WoW_on_iPhone.html
So I call on you Mac users that are out there! Post a video of EvE on the iPhone

Edited by: Lysit Kaune on 12/07/2007 12:12:04 World of Warcraft has a native port, and as far as I am aware only x86 Macs (Intel Macs) can run eve, either via bootcamp or WINE. Its my understanding WINE only works on x86 based machine (though theres a x64 port now I believe), unless there been a massive break through using Bochs to emulate x86 on Macs that I'm not aware of (Think it was the DarWINE project attempting that).
Edit: Just looked up the specs, the iphone is using an ARM Processor (Which generally has more in common with microcontrollers), so its basically remote desktop to a Mac playing WOW. There no reason someone with a PDA or similar can't use VNC to a windows machine to play eve (or a Mac if its x86), its pretty much the same idea, just expect your frame rate to crawl, and only be able to see 1/4 of the screen.

Run EVE on Pc, Run VNC server on PC...
Run software on Homebrew enabled DS to take control of PC, connect DS to wireless network & control the PC with it...

Chribba did this a year ago or so...he used a SonyEricsson cell-phone and I think he had a PS3 or PS3 playing Eve also... --- I had a cool siggy but it had the wrong corp in it, then my server died :( |

Saw that when the vid first hit the intartubes. I found it amusing that people were all "OMG you can play MeH on your iPhone!!!!one!" and then watched the video. Yeah you can play it. If by "play" you mean "barely able to even view the screen properly".
In terms of usability, it's right up there with square tires and cold air balloons.

A specific tool or web-based ability to do this would be far more useful, to be honest. Or just setting a really long skill to train while you're sunning it up on a beach somewhere. :D

This is outstanding, once can play eve on an iphone when one cannot fleet battle on a brand new quad core machine with 20mbit net connection.
Nice work, great advertising for the depth of quality of the game currently.

Ugh, I wrote out a whole response before I realised this was really just troll bait.
Web Based Skill Change Mechanism. Get to it, CCP! The demand, I feel, is high enough to justify a little extra web coding. Though it's been a while since the online item database was updated...
