My other alt is in a corp that just been war dec'ed and as I am newish to Eve I haven't experienced war before. I have a couple of questions about war:
What are wars like?
Do you get podded or just have your ship destroyed?
How long wars go for normally?
What are the chances of winning\destroying a couple of enemy ships if they are a pure pvp corp and we are a young corp with young players?

In empire, they suck a little bit. Mostly, it's trying to ambush the other guy while he's not within docking or jumping range of anything.

They have to be renewed once a week for a fee

Put a guy in a belt like he's ratting/mining for bait, let them find and ambush him, then warp in with every frig and cruiser your guys can scr-ape up. ECM/Damps/Tracking Disruptors are your friend.

Wars used to be really fun, now there's generally a lot of camping involved.
You can get podded unless you warp your pod out before the enemy ships can get a point on it (unless they decide not to pod you for some reason)
Wars noramlly go on for one or two weeks. Sometimes longer, if the deccing corp wishes to continue hostilities, or the war can be retracted at any time by the deccing corp (normally for isk).
As for the last, it depends on the ability of the corp deccing you. Try and fight though, you might enjoy it (don't fly what you can't afford to lose).

There is only one kind of war (that I know).
Until someone giveup.
It's depend for what skill you have. Some corp's are very young but they have I their array advanced player's.
You know what I mean?

Just get a bunch or cheap t1 cruisers and frigs and go have some fun.
Even if you lose something like 10 t1 cruisers but manage to kill a BS, you still inflicted way more damage to them.

Have fun. There is every chance you are going to get creamed but take it in your stride. fly cheap T1 frigs and cruisers and dont fit the most expensive stuff because like i said, your probably gonna get creamed if there experienced guys.
But like I said at the start. HAVE FUN. and if its your first taste of PVP, learn from the guys that war dec'ed you. Take not of how they fly.

Wars are great fun. If you're the underdog then don't engage on their terms. When they bring a large force, don't engage unless u have a chance. If you're heavily outnumbered then use hit and run tactics and attack them when they don't expect it.
btw yes you can be podded if ur at war and they probably will pod you whenever they get the chance but unless u have extreme lag then podding someone is not possible without smartbombs (which i doubt they'll use in high sec) unless they don't know how to get their pod out.
