I am getting ready to train for Battlecruisers. But I am wondering what is a good caldari ship and how to fit it for mission running and/or PvP. Thanks for all the help!!!

for pvp - dont use a battlecruiser, they both suck
for mission running use a drake, very good at tanking and you can select damage type easy

PvP get a Myrm, that's the best advice I can give you after having sunk several million sp into the drake myself and getting disappointing performance out of it. Well, if you really like tanking and being practically useless to your gang, then the drake might be for you.
It's good for missions though.
Drake PvE:
Highs: 7 Heavy Launchers / 1 Salvager (if it fits)
Mids: 3 Rat Specific Hardners, 2 LSE, 1 AB/3rd LSE
Lows: Your favorite mix of sprs and BCUs, I use 2/2

Drake is awesome BC in gangs when fit for tackling, no one will EVER primary you because they think you are setup for mad tank

You just fail at using them properly (Or have never actually used them to realize how good they can be).

It's true that the drake can perform decently with a little creativity. I like damp setups personally. However the Myrm is still far ahead in terms of pvp usefulness.

So this of what you think of me when I'm in gang?!?
Pvp, carry all ammo types, and probe resist holes. If they have one, you'll tear them apart and be a wonderful asset. If they don't...well, not always so much --------------

I didn't want you to find out this way but... now you know
Joking of course, HAM gank drakes are a rarity, the effectiveness of which has yet to be accepted by the eve-o population. I was referring to the usual heavy missile setups which have depressing dps. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the reason you can pull it off is by being extremely specialized. I also think that if you had dedicated all those sp to a myrm you would be more effective. I was originally going to do the same thing and spec in the drake, partly out of spite, but the performance gap got to me in the end which is why I'm now training gheylente.

Oh, totally.
Another reason why it has been effective, honestly, is because a majority of the eve population fits their ships like absolute crap (little/no e-war, and "tanked" with huge resist holes). I'm just trying to make the best of the skills I've trained. We are also usually in small numbers engagements. I'd be next to worthless in that setup in a bigger battle, I imagine. Or at least not very optimised.
So, OP, go train for a myrm. You'll have way more options with it --------------

Me too, expect I'm far too stubborn to change yet. The HAM gank Drake can have big fitting problems... but some set-ups are indeed rather effective.
But yeah, if I had those SP in Minnie or Gallenteasymode, I can't help but think I'd be more effective...

Thanks for the tip. My corp mate says thanks for giving away one of the Drakes secrets.

If you don't have a clue how to set up a caldari ship for gang warfare, follow this advice.
If you want to help your gang using a drake, put on 7 HML II, Gang Warfare Module 2 Large Extenders II, 3 Remote Sensor Damps II, sensor booster II 2 PDS II, 2 BCS II Small Armor Maintenance Bots or Warrior IIs.
I pew therefore I am.

Myrmidion:
1 Warfare link 1 Remote Armor Rep 2 Med Nos 2 Small Nos
1 10mn MWD 1 Medium Injector 3 Damps
2 MAR 3 Hardners 1 DCU
Heavy attack drones
Permaruns everything except the MWD with cap charges and good cap skills.
It has more damage, far more tank, as much e-war, more mobility, more repping power and nosses on top of that.
Thanks for missing an obvious exaggeration and the part where I said the drake can perform decently, though.
My point being the Myrm is overall a much better ship, set up for gang support or not.

Drakes are great for pvp if you use ecm instead of putting on extenders like a tool.

As many mids as a blackbird, no ECM bonus. Why didn't I think of that? It can fit four SDAs but then damage is horrible.
If you're going E-war might as well go damps.
