i dunno if you have any left; but i recently became intrigued by the scimmy when i decided to give it a run on the test server. You wouldt think a logi ship would be fun to fly but when u get down to some good fights and your multitasking like hell, i rly enjoyed it. I have yet to use the scimmy to much avail on tranq; but getting 1 for free would start me off Im all minnie spec and can and will use the ship if given to me; dont frankly know how long it would last Any way Gl with ur givings away

Have i missed it yet or can i still have a free one.
Flown and Popped 2 in PVP but they are great fun to fly and i totally agree that they are underused as a PVP ship. I used one to help tank a scorp in a mobile roaming gang and everything was going smotth until the Scorp pilot warped out due to complete lack of faith but it certainly took a while for them to notice that the scorp wasnt about to die like a normal primary. I'd also add that it need a decent FC to utilise them but as expected they are still an underused resource.
The recent changes to the Logistics Ship wasnt much of an improvement but its certainly a step in the right direction. its Possible now for you to have a setup at reasonable costs to PERMAREP with 4x Large Transporters. This will give you a repair rate of 307.2hp PER SECOND and that DOESNT include Repair Drones (which you get 100% bonus for)
If you want to talk about its Tracking Link effiency the i suggest you track down Barkel form AMESH as we had a difference of opinion as to its primary use but if you want your snipers to enjoy a seriously nice boost then you cant go wrong with a scimitar.

I have just got into PVP myself and am diving in the deep end with HAC's as I specialise in cruiser sized combat.
One problem with being on the frontlines I find though is that everyone wants to fight, and no one wants to play support, so we generally start losing ships after a few encounters. With a great logistics ship, which can also help to tackle, whilst keeping damage dealers in their prime, this sounds like the ultimate tool to take into combat. It will definitely make the upcoming move into 0.0 a lot more comfortable for me and my corp knowing that there will be another layer of protection on the frontlines.

I ll try to build some more as I noticed there are quite a few worthy takers here!
I d be very grateful if those who can / want to send me that API key as proof of their logistic skill do so.
You do not need logistics V for this.
As an incentive those four who do will get served first, takes a couple of days to get those additional Scims built for the others I believe.
I do not want to force this upon anyone - so if you dont that is just as fine.
As further encouragement I am offering another free Scimitar to whoever comes back with the best PVP story having used this ship to this thread.
2 x 1 run Scimitar BPC and a single run Scimitar BPC go to the second and third runners up.
I dont care whether you won or lost - just show you the community you have made good use of it in PvP.
Screenshots or FRAPS to back up the stories will be a plus obviously.
I will take any post within the next 14 days into consideration for this competition.
Seriously - how much better can it get ?

Cypherous - Fighting BoB is always a good reason as it means more competition for them (which they like) and some PvP happening for you. Hopefully long enough to tell a story

Bottom line - I really think that a well setup Scimitar can be a totally new and exiting aspect added to PvP gangs.

Unlike some of the other posters in this thread, I have been using logistics for a while. I have a minny specced pvp char that has logistics V, shield emmission systems IV, and sensor linking V. I have a sniper assist scim that is rigged out and carries 5x shadow serpentis tracking links.
I would love to have another of these ships to use as a front line, shield repping logistics ship. Also, I am sure I could provide you with TONS of entertaining battle reports from it's use. Let me know :)

I fly a basilisk in tandem with a guardian, I at logistics 5 and he at lvl 4, in 8 days I'll finish minmatar cruiser 5 and be able to fly scimitars, vagabonds etc. I would probably fly the scimitar in any situation i would normally fly my basilisk because of its small sig radius and high speed.
Oh, and you broke the frame damn you...

Confirmed totally legit. I just got mine and it was contracted in a .5 system so safe space too.
Just to reiterate. Its a great ship and its a huge shame they arent flown more and more. Support roles are underlooked but can make huge additions to roaming gangs or fleet engagements.
Its also cheaper than flying those huge TII targets :)

Hello there, I have flown a Scimitar for over a year now.
It is my main pvp ship, I have used to it to dodge dreadnaught fire in the battle of 1v- while trying to recharge the PoS shields that goons and RA were trying to take down.
I have used its 4 High slots with shield transporters (1 large, 3 mediums) to rep many of ships in my corps/alliances gangs. If you asked my corp; Beasts of Burden, you will get a postive response of the Scimitar proving worthwhile to save their injured ships from destruction.
The Med slots I use for tanking, 1 AB, 1 Cap Booster, 1 Invul, 1 Kine Amp,and 1 large Shield booster.
Low Slots I fit, x3 PDU and 1 Reactor Control.
This setup proves most valuable when taking fire AND still able to rep friendlies without agressing enemies. This makes most sense when almost out of cap and shield to jump the gate and AB back from the other side to re-enter the battle. It has worked countless times.
For over a year in countless battles I have yet to lose more than 3 Scimitars and a free one would make an excellent addition to my and yours Doyoulikemytightsweater notion on trying to promote Logistical ships to pilots of Eve.
I feel I am one of the more experience Scimitar pilots in Eve and would love other pilots to tag on the band-wagon for good o'l logistical fun!

It sounds very interesting and I'd use one but only if you don't mind it being used in the great wildlands.

Hey there. I have been a Minmatar pvp pilot since early 2003. My first cruiser was Sythe and I'll never forget it getting blown to hell :)
Having just aquired logistics lvl 1, in my million year own a cap ship plan (even though I have played for 4ish years I still cant afford the skill books, let alone the ship as every Isk/cent I have earnt has been blown to pieces in the persuit of combat)
I'd be honoured to get your buissness running by fly one of your ships into battle and most likley blown to pieces on the frontline..

I am very happy to see so much response to this thread.
The Scimitar is a great ship and there are quite a few who realise that.
Oriodus and Kai Lae will be the next two receiving their free Scimitar.
As I am limited to building one ship every 17 hours I decided to do a second wave of my advertising scheme.
This means I will build 5 more Scims and pick the 5 most likely to further promote this ship's use next week.
Please feel free to apply for one of those five additional
healer vessels by posting here if you havent.
As before - whoever submits proof that they can fly it (e.g. API key) ranks higher.
Thanks for all your feedback, it is great to see this ship not being dead.
I am sure all of you can come up with creative and viable uses of the nimble Scimitar :)

Me me me, I've worked it out, I can get a Geddon to snipe with Mega PULSE II, yea, about 160KM range, I mean, like, OMG DPS and tracking from that range.

Thank you doyoulikemytightsweater - i've just recieved my contract and heading to collect it now. I will be fitting it out and then using it in our weekly 'corp-night' events - whether that be PvP or Npc. I will write a report on how and what situations i use it.

It's interesting that noone has mentioned it, but the Scimitar makes for a pretty funny but effective heavy tackler. Speed lows, mass rigs, Vaga-ish mids, drones and then whatever you want up high. Try it, you might like it.

No i don't want ur scimitar, why? because i have a Basil allready.
So a couple a nights ago remembering the fix it got in rev 2.0 i thought i'd have a look... after checking the stats i found out the thing can have a better tank then a cerb now 
Offcourse it's damage potential is near non existant (2 launchers and 1 turret point) but it's a lot cheaper then the cerb and it's shieldboosting boni is nice too.
I just wish they would turn the energy transfer into another boni, i mean remote tracking boni is nice, very nice indeed.
Mebbe some form of remote ecm bonus, afterall caldari is the ecm race.

OK, I'll bite. I finish Minmatar Cruiser 5 in about 3 days, and am on my way to Recons. I've got remote rep skills trained up and was using a Typhoon to remote rep in lvl 4 skills a year ago, but once we moved out to lowsec and then 0.0, it was too slow with too low a range, and the Logistics ships didn't look worth it at the time. I wasn't aware they'd had a boost but, if what everyone is saying is true, I'd definitely be interested.
It'll be a while before I have the other skills for Recon (want T2 guns, better propulsion jamming, etc.), while all I need for Logi is one more level in shield emission systems to make me happy and getting the Logi skill higher. I'd be interested in finding out for myself if they're as good as you say.
As for a PVP story, I can guarantee that it'll be given an opportunity, if only I can get it down to where we play
