Tranquility will undergo an extended downtime on Tuesday, 17 July. The start time and length of the downtime will be announced over the weekend. During this time, a patch will be applied to Revelations consisting of fixes and improvements.
Patch Notes are now available for review. Updates may be added over the weekend as more items are cleared through the Quality Assurance process. These changes will be highlighted with green text.
Please note: Training a long learning duration skill ending after the scheduled return to service is recommended.

Edited by: Paddlefoot Aeon on 13/07/2007 21:16:07 I've had the chance to look over these notes... and I can't help but notice the lack of some things.
First... no fix for complexes that don't despawn. 2nd, no indication if the whole "corp vs. alliance" standings issue will be fixed (i'll link the thread later. Third: I've personally received a bug report confirmation on 2 issues that are on their list, but not on these notes (a both a week or more over). Fourth: How about a fix for the character selection screen, where you seem to have more time in your alliance than in your corp.
I know that a bunch of stuff gets stealth fixed... but seeing them listed on the patch notes screen would be kinda nice! -----------------------------------------------

Not exactly a lengthy list of changes but good to know those two starbase bugs are being fixed.
Any eta on the removal of the pre-nerf on bombs? I'd love to try them out on some blobs but at their current mineral cost its just not going to happen. --------------

Are the de-synch issues being addressed that came a lot more frequent in the last patch than before ? |

Yes, do you mean that you aren't addressing lag or desynching? Thousands of your players are getting desynched and lagged out at major focus points, and it's getting to where people aren't having fun. Like one alliance m8 said, we lose ships to lag now, not to pewpew. Please fix this. And I don't mean to be unnice :p You have made the greatest game ever, but before you fix minor stuff, fix the stuff that breaks the game completely for some people.
As always, with much respect,

Having this fixed would be nice. If it can not be fixed in time it would be nice for GMs/CSRs to have some improved instruction on how to handle the situation.

sticky modules?
i dunno if its just me or what but it seems that some of my modules stay active even when i switch them off and the only way to stop them is to either run out of cap or warp

Blueicequeen,
Sticky modules have been bothering me since the first day play.
I've learned to work around this by 'moving a module' from one position to another. What this does is redraws all of the modules. The effect is to change the flashing red module that will not turn off back to a green flashing one so you can issue a 'manual' reload/fire/execute and then it will turn itself off at the end of that cycle.
Same deal for modules that fail to reload (why critical things like this aren't investigated and fixed is bonkers!!), just shift ANY module from wherever it is to an empty slot. If you have all your slots filled your just cream*****ered though ;-)
These issues are so frequent, its amazing the devs don't get so upset about it and just fix it.
I'd like to see desync fixed and some pre-caching put in place to stop the sodding harddrive thrashing when I change grid. I have 4 gigs of RAM, I'm happy for EVE to use it all, just can't find a place to reliably configure eve to soak it up with relevant information.
God, i love this game, its so hardcore lol I'd like an Amarrian Nipple Noogey please!

BTW, why patch is 2.0.2? I thought it should be 2.1.1?...

Try changing buffersize=XXXX in prefs.ini. Set buffersize to 1/2 your RAM (in MB). In your case try buffersize=1024 , since EVE rarely uses more than 400-500MB (for me).
*edit That should help with the HD thrashing, but won't help desyncs.

CCP you're getting better but you've got a hell of a long way to go when it comes to telling the community about existing bugs and an ETA on those fixes. I'm a paying customer. I think I deserve to know when your broken product is going to be fixed.

Come on, don't think for a minute they forget that with all the hardware upgrades they have gone through. Comments like this add nothing to a patch thread and should be removed, as should this response.
This is an evolving game, in case ya haven't noticed.

Quote: Build 34381 to 34729 addresses Patch Notes for Revelations 2.0.2
Fixes, changes and improvements
* When creating a new character, the new pilot would sometimes not be placed into a ship when space loaded. This has been resolved. * Players reactivating their account as part of the reactivation campaign will be offered the tutorial if they create a new character. * In some situations, a starbase would have its shield status reset to 50% after downtime. This has been resolved. * Very rarely during start-up, some starbase structures would be put into an invalid state, and would prevent other starbases in the system from loading correctly. This has been resolved.
Is there some problem with the website or is there not much in this release ?

I'm not sure if CCP is trying to do this, but I support their decision to go for smaller more frequent patches over larger but less frequent patches.
The larger the patch, the more time some bug fixes have been waiting to get deployed.
I would love to have a patch Tuesday every week, no matter how small the patch.
Just shove them out as soon as they're cleared by quality assuance I say ... --
