Well I was dumb enough to think otherwise and therefore I did deserve to lose 5 mill (and my ship), however just so other folks know, it dosn't exist. I bought a location of a supposed no pirate spawn bistot asteroid field and when I got there I was killed by Blood Archons, serves me right for being stupid. Now I'm not going to disclose the name of the person who sold me this location. Instead I'm going to say just don't trust ANYONE that claims to have the location for such a belt because it dosn't exist. Thank you folks for your time and make sure not to get scammed, it sucks, heh. -----------------------------------

In another interesting note I go to contact them and I think I'm blocked, haha. Funny stuff those scammers.
Anyways, if anyone wants the name so they can go pod them or something, eve mail or convo me. I won't post it on a forum. -----------------------------------

It's not my job to expose scammers. Besides if they're smart then the minite their discovered they log on an alt and can start all over again. I say teach everyone what they're selling dosn't exist and then their operation is put to a stop for good. -----------------------------------

So, you don't want to warn people about these guys? Thereby letting these guys scam someone else with another scam?

Edited by: Cryonik on 26/01/2004 11:02:10 Those so called pirate free belts exists! this is due to the grid bug in some rare belts. the pirates are sitting 120 and more kilometer beside you in an other grid and wont attack.

Meffert, I want people to be educated to not believe in 0.0 no-pirate belts (Even if they are due to a grid bug which may not be in the game forever). Then if the guy creates an alt no one has to worry about being scammed because they won't be dumb enough to buy what the scammer is selling.
Scammers can create alts so exposing scammers via shouting names isn't going to solve anything. Safe trading practices and education are the tools of the day for stopping scammers. I realize that now and if someone dosn't want to use a trade window or let me verify the product then they don't want the sale bad enough. -----------------------------------

Edited by: Tialc on 26/01/2004 11:30:30 These belts exist definitly. The only problem is, that since Castor (perhaps even before) the grids varie in size and position after every downtime - so it sometimes happens that if you mark a hidden belt and warp to it after a serverdown it might have changed to an normal one because the grid of the normal belt now includes also the "hidden" one! But after next downtime things can have changed again - So its up to you to check the state of these hidden belts first, i would suggest in a pod or a fast frigate.
And if you fly to any bookmark you recieve from unknown people i would first check where they lead to, before i would risk my cruiser or BS
(This is proffed, because has happened to me and other friends of mine)

Well , there are belts where npc rats do not spawn , due to the belt being near a grid.
When server restarts , these grids change and then the belt is no longer "gridded". Try again in the same belt (in a pod while your ship is safe at a planet or other location) and the belt may be gridded again.
Your Mega Afocal Pulse Maser I perfectly strikes Asteroid (Veldspar) [R0ME], wrecking for 798.3 damage.
Your 425mm Railgun I perfectly strikes Guardian Captain, wrecking for 685.9 damage.

If someone offers you suck a bookmark, scout it first. Don't just give them five million...
And people wonder why the Nigerian e-mail scam works.

well same story here: I brought propperly the same location of "Acimazis Kemal" *the guy on trade channel who tryes to sell it ..
Well offered him half of the 5mill and (2mill now and 3mill when i had seen it) ..it was cool with him and he said a few times that i could trust him and so.. As soon as the money was wired (send to him) and i should get the location ..he asked for more money LOL i knew it ...
so i wasted 30min +2mill on him .. Just like last time i brought harvester info for 20mill and got a random system name of an Alt ..yeehhaa great

Pirate free belts exist, but, the grids move every downtime. So what's free today, isn't free tomorow.
