I have 3 PC¦s in a LAN using a Hub connected to my DSL-Modem. All 3 PC¦s are online using Internet Connection Sharing. My Problem is that only the PC that builds up the connection to the Internet is able to access all parts of the Internet. The others refuse to open secure sites (Like my Free-Email provider)and now as I was trying to play EVE on a different PC it seems that it does not work either.
I¦ve played EverQuest before I started playing EVE and it was no problem to get ingame with all 3 PC¦s at the same time.
So does anyone know wich changes in the Network Settings need to be done to get EVE running on more then one PC at the same Time ? ( All 3 PC¦s use Win XP)

First, about your configuration ...
is it: 1) The DSL-Modem is connected to your hub 2) The DSL-Modem is connected to a Windows box that is connected to the hub. The windows box is running internet sharing service.

The DSL-Modem is connected to the Hub (passiv Hub) and the Hub is connected to each of the PC¦s. Usaly I connect to the net with my main PC and the other 2 ( both Laptops) just get their Data via the Main PC. Worked fine with EQ that way.
When I start the Internet connection on one of the Laptops Eve also works fine on that one, but again not on the other 2 PC¦s, so I guessed it¦s about the network settings.

No the DSL-Modem has no own IP-Address. (As far as I know, I¦m no Pro ... )
The PC that connects to the Internet gets a IP Adress from my ISP and the other two have fixed IP¦s. I¦m not sure if the IP Adress is the right direction with my problem. It worked fine playing Everquest before with the same setup. I guess it¦s more a option in the Network settings I haven¦t found now, that prevents me from opening secure sites and the access to Eve.

Additional Information .. when connecting to the Internet on the main PC and starting Eve on one of the Laptops, Eve starts up normal and I can see both Servers and how many People are online ... While Logging in, the client stucks at "Got Attributes".

One Word: Router
They are only about 40 bux now and mostly everyone i know has found that a Dedicated Linux-based routing box is better than ICS (Spelling out the words would hurt my soul).
Try this one. Its 40 bux with free shipping and its a good router. (I would reccommend NetGear, Linksys, or D-Link, if you can find them locally) -------------------------------------------

Please DON'T try that one. I'm sure some people have not had any problems with D-Link products but D-Link and internet games are two words that should never go together.
I got so frustraged with a D-Link router I literally unplugged it, tossed it in the trash, went to Best Buy and bought a Linksys. Just a side note, I'm one of those di hard people that will spend hours and hours on a small problem just to say I fixed it. I could NEVER get the darn D-Link to work properly.
I've had three Linksys routers now and i love them. They are a few more bucks than D-Link but I think for gaming and for Eve they are a better choice.
As far as the origional problem goes. I'd check the IP settings and any software firewall you are using. make sure your TCPIP setings are optimized for DSL and you are not blocking any of the ports the game uses.

You might want to try this Link : http://alive.znep.com/~marcs/mtu/
or if you are able to read and understand German you might want to try this link : www.dslteam.de
for further information. I do not understand everything they are talking about there but it helped.
