Edited by: Steve Holt on 16/07/2007 23:15:18 I am a pirate and i want more of a challenge, i want that person to hunt me down and if he sucseeds i want him to get a nice reward so in my 2 years or eve forum whoring these are the Best bounty hunting suggestions.
1. Bounty hunting licsense. Buy from concord for a monthly fee allows u to kill people with bountys in High sec. Recently this was suggested but with a little concord icon likw the pirate icon.
2. Private bountys. The abiltie to aproach a licsense holding bounty hunter to kill a target Or the abiltie to make a contract per say with a specific bounty hunter / bounty hunting corp. The way bounty on a person is show would then be All contracts on him added = total bounty and it is deductade each time a contract is "completed" so pirate x has contract a and contract b out on him, two differnt people accept contract a and b, so his bounty would show AB, now b is completed by the bounty hunter and now the bounty shows A.
3. Concord Tracking Everytime a person with a bounty kills someone else and the concord mail is generated, there should be a searchable database to find out where said pirate has been lately what he was last seen in and such, this database should only be one or two kill mails long, one reason not to use up too much data and thus lag and two not to let people search back hundreds of kill mails and find hunting patterns and such.
4. Alt claiming Theb uyer should be able to accept the person who accepted the bounty contract, there msut a implement to stop peopel accepting bountys on people in there corps, people on the same account (for example character a and x a has bounty x is his alt on same account, X must not be allowed to collect bounty on A), I have not yet seen a good sugestion to stop alts on another account from claiming a bounty.
Now devs who read this PLEASE make a better bounty system

2 is cool, but that would be contract killing.
3 is interesting, but I think that's what locator agents are for.

I like 3 a lot. It allows the bounty hunter to become an investigator. If you can read your target's last two killmails, that gives you an excellent tracking tool while still giving the target enough of a head start as to not be overpowered. The target can also attempt to cover its tracks by keeping a low profile.

3 is cool.
I like 2, but i have this related idea.
When someone kills you in lowsec, and you have kill rights, put a contract on the market, whomever accepts it, get the killrights transffered to him. While i like it, I see too many ways to abuse that.

#3 is a hot idea, however i think if someone wants to turn into an investigator they should be smart enough to know most killboards are public access.

no one wants to trample all over killboards, in or out of game to find something: such info should be acquirable ingame
it is, however, time to fix the profession once and all; as it is now, its a broken thing which makes pirates money... in short, a joke. ----------------------------------------------- "Yes... I sleep with my myrmidon. It's nothing to be ashamed of!" |
