Edited by: Fek Atoriani on 17/07/2007 18:07:50 Retiring from the game? Make a grand exit and give away that character. Just because your leaving EVE does not mean your character has too. Let me know if this form of eternal life appeals to you :)

People beg all the time. If your gonna make a ass of yourself this way, you may as well go for the big time...do it with gusto...show some moxie.
If you don't your just a lowlife poser POS that only has enough nerve to say "begger post". By the way, its b-e-g-g-A-r (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=beggar). If your going to call me it, spell it right.
What a dee-dee-dee. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Mencia)

The point was that this is a begger post. You can try to disguise it in whatever you want but in the end, your just begging for a character becouse your probebly to lazy to train one up yourself.
And he/she didnt make an ass out of herself. You did.
See you in game begger. -----------------------------------------------

THE RULES: "1. Only post if you are willing to pay In-Game ISK for an In-Game item or items..."
Whilst this isn't aimed at beggars specificly, it does cover your post. You are not paying ISK, therefore GTFO.

I must disagree with you.
In response, please consider the following:
1. You spelled beggar correctly; Kudos. Even after reading the first response Aziz Hekato managed to do so incorrectly.
2. I am willing to pay ISK to someone who is leaving the game and would consider giving their character away rather than simply removing them from the game. The rules do not say that you must explicitly state such, or that you must state a specific amount. Before you quote rules at me again, read them with understanding, or be a CCP Community Manager laying down the law. You failed to do the former and are not the latter.
3. Justify the claim that I am to lazy to train my character. I have only been in game 7 or so days, and while I may have missed some training opportunity time wise, I have not been idle or lazy. My character ID is 616282546. In the short time I have played I have achieved 964778 SP and have a balance of 5.5 million plus ISK. Not huge numbers, I agree, but progress none the less.
4. I played Star Wars Galaxies for 6 months, achieving the highest level possible. I as well as others at that level would go into the Mos Eisley Cantina (where most new players would wind up) and would simply give the stuff away. We could not trade the characters as you can in EVE, but all sorts of high end and unique items were simply given away, many with the sole condition that the items be passed on and not sold, just as they were passed on to begin with. If you played that game on a server where this was not common, then I pity you. Having said that, I see no reason not to bring that same spirit of giving to EVE. If I get tired of this game you can be assured that I will not simply sell my assets off or let the character disappear. I will find a newbie and give them a really cool gift. If you choose not to or do not feel compelled to do so, then you GTFO yourself.
5. Thanks for making bumps for this thread unnecessary.
Kind Regards, Fek

Thank you for your compliments on my spelling. My e-peen has swelled considerably as a result.

There is no offer to pay in your post, with the phrase "give away that character" you are in fact begging. I read the rules and my understanding is that you have violated them. I am now reporting this thread to the mods so they can make their minds up.
Your other points are nothing to do with my posts to this thread.

Whilst begging is not permitted on the forums, you are permitted to place a "want to buy" order in this respective forum.
If you wish to acquire a character from another player, regardless of whether you want to pay for it in ISK or ingame items, please be aware that the player transferring the character to you will have to pay a transfer fee for this service.
It is debatable whether a player leaving the game is willing to spend additional real life cash to transfer their character for the sake of helping others (indeed a most noble gesture of kindness), however such a decision is entirely their prerogative.
