I was wondering what ship class, up to a cruiser, would be best for killing Pirate inty's and frigs 1 on 1 or even 1 on 2.
What i mean is, if i was to go out hunting a pirate, and wanted to seem more vulnerable than i really was, what should i fly and fit?
I can fly gallente, minmitar and caldari frigs, and caldari ships upto BS, but would want to use a cruiser or smaller to minimize my loss if/when i died.
Some1 told me that i should fit webbers and NOS mostly, since speed and drainage would be an inty's only tank.
I was thinking about using a blackbird with webbers, nos and std missiles. any suggestions? |

I've had a great deal of success popping frigs and pods with this. I engaged a pair of Klepto inties in it, and made them run away. If I'd had a web fit, he'd have melted before he could have warped, I think.
That said, a Cormorant may do better. And a Sabre would do even better.
Oh, and *EAGLE* will freaking PWN inties, but they'll never willingly come to you. ;-)

Edit: I understand if someone tells you to take the MSE II off and put a web on instead. It'll make it awfully close 2v1 though. You'll probably do it. Long range inties will still screw you though (so consider Arties if you know what he's running)

I wouldn't use a Blackbird. Like most Caldari ships, it's horrible solo as you'd sacrifice your tank for PVP gear.
Destroyers are good anti-inty ships, but they die quickly to anything cruiser sized. Other than that, it's something that can catch an interceptor, like another interceptor.
The best thing to do would be a well tanked 'bait ship' like a caracal, then have a couple friends hiding in a safespot ready to warp in once you've drawn the bait.

Caracal with precision standard missiles fired from assault launcher IIs. Any inty that makes the mistake of sticking around will simply die.

I think they said "use Assault missiles and a caracal". I said use a Dessie. The Caracal will work *great* as a bait ship. Trust me!
(Short answer: no, you're not)

Edited by: Neuromandis on 19/07/2007 00:19:52 I do not believe you need anything more than a caracal with assault missiles and t2 precision missiles. The inties should pretty much pop before you manage to hit f1-f5. Put some extenders and web as well and you should withstand a good number of them or have the time to return to the gate otherwise. If they decide to web you, , they will die that much the faster. I won't tell you an actual fit I haven't tried out myself, but I think T2 precision lights on assault launchers are your answer.
If there is one thing Caldari ships do well is fitting to pop small stuff. --- If someone else from my Corporation or Alliance agrees with me, he will say so. Assume nobody does :) --- WTB: Scorpion wing (left)

It's not easy to get an inty willing to go into web range of something that does more damage and has more hp. A blackbird will be far more effective than a caracal or a cormorant in looking innocent, and does plenty of damage to 1v2. 24k, 2x webber and whatever ew turns you on and you can easily kill stupid ceptor pilots. A couple damps should save you from a missile crow. When trying to act innocent, turn autolock on and align to something rather than approach with guns blazing, try to get the ceptor to get overconfident and in close to 'finish you off'. Then activate all mods and scoop the loot.

I made this mistake last night. I was baiting a pair of HACs and they immediately ran when I scrammed + approached. One got away, one got ganked. =)
So, QFT is what I'm trying to say. ;-)
