Hi,
New player alert here. I started the game yesterday evening and had a little insurance bod trying to show me what to do. managed to do a couple of things before I bluescreened and when I logged back in he'd gone.
Then I got to a space station - found another tutorial on the space station, closed it cos I wanted to look at something else and never got it back again.
I'm presuming I'm looking in the wrong place somewhere and I'm sure the answer is phenomenally simple but right now, my inherent noobness is preventing me doing anything except mining!
Any help much appreciated - but be aware, the more you tell me, the more I'll come back in three days asking about...... (I'm like that I'm afraid - persistent......)
Thanks very much

Afaik - you cannot get the tutorials back. The best way is to create a second character and run through them there. Then switch back to your main and carry on with the missions from your agent.

Welcome to EVE.. from one new player to another
Yeah, had the same problem.. always accidentally closing my tutorials or getting stuck from some stupid reason or another. I finally just said the heck with it, scrapped the tutorial idea and went out to learn things on my own. I find it's much better that way.

Thanks very much - I was hoping they'd be incredibly basic anyway so am happy to jump from system to system seeing what's going on.
Cheers for the answers - at least I know I'm not being too dense this time! Turn on. Tune in. Burn out. |

Edited by: Koios on 28/01/2004 10:05:32 If you clear your client cache folder (c:\programs\ccp\eve\cache) the beginner tutorials will appear again. Downside is, that you loose your settings (window positions, colour settings...).
A nice place to look for help is the official support database (left hand side "Support" on this page). I recommend the beginner guide:

Have fun!

yup - clear the cache folder. Tutorials will come back. This is also good to do if you client starts crashing for no reason (happened to me) ...

the tutorial in station is very short anyway.
The important thing to do is to select the agents tab (in the station menu on the right had side) and right click the agent there.
He will give you some guidance and basic missions which will help you get a grip on the game - as well as improving your standings when you have done 10 missions or so - allowing you to access and use agents in other stations.
Hope that helps!
