So here is what happened. (30 minutes before the wife get home from work) Just finished a quick L3 (seek and destroy) in Junigashi. (10 min left on NPC aggro counter)

Ship jumps to Suroken.

Boom, I'm in a pod. blink, blink, wtf? I look up in the corner and now I have 9 minutes left on a Global criminal counter? I warp pod off and dock. Petition. Get canned response. Sorry for your loss, all looked good on this end.
So here are my questions: How did I go from an NPC aggro counter to a Global Criminal counter by jumping? If I had global aggro before I jumped to Suroken, then I should not have been able to jump, right? If I had aggro'ed someone/thing in Junigashi, then I should have been concorded in Junigashi? How can I be sure that this does not happen again?

Nice sideeffect, CCP. *thumbs up* How much did you guys pay for it?
Oh and sorry about your loss, axle. Sometimes repeating a petition several times helps, because GMs obviously decide very often at will, not according to some GM rules or so.
I've had cases where the one guy laughs at me what a stupid player i am and the other guy apologizes for the game error and helps me.
Note for the mods: I didn't publish any GM conversation here. Hrhr. -- This game is still in beta stage |

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try.
Fortuantely I rememebered to switch to a corp alt and got what wasn't destroyed back.
My big concern is being able to trust what EVE is telling me about aggro and counters and such.

Actually, a few mins back upon egress from a station in my shuttle I got a message: "has started trying to warp scramble you". That's it, no name at all. Nothing happened in the end though as far as I can tell.

It seems once in a while CONCORD pulls an LAPD-style beating on Eve citizens for no apparent reason. Hopefully it gets resolved quickly for you.

were you running missions with an alt? if you kicked out a FOF, or a round in the wrong direction that will flag you. I've had it happen a couple of times where my alt accidentally fired upon me, and got a Global Criminal + Sec hit.
Oooh... idea there, check your security status to see if/when it lowered. That will tell you the *why* behind the GCC. If there isn't anything put that in the petition, pretty hard to argue with a GCC w/o a sec hit.

Interesting idea, I didn't think to check my sec status. but no, alt is on the same account (hauleralt), and no fof's either (myrm). I really just want to know if i can actually trust the aggro warnings or not.

Thanks for the suggestion about checking my sec status. There was no change to it, the the increase from killing npcs. I have attempted to escalate the petition. I appreciate the help.

I find that none of my petitions are EVER helped the first time (must be an unwritten rule they have) I have had to resubmit the petitions upto 12 times before I get help. Let me ask you this. 1. Why does EVERY GM rule difrently? 2. Would lag time on petitions be alot faster if you didnt have to resubmit endlessly? 3. Do they think there will be less petitions if they dont help anyone? Im guessing they hope you get frustrated and go away. 4. How can you have clear proof and they still say there isnt any , until you page several more times. 5. Are petitions "shopped out" to 3rd world staff/companies that dont have translater hardware , so they have no clue what your talking about?
My Last petition I told the GM straight up. "Your either a Liar or the most incompatent employee ive ever had the displeasure of coming in contact with , Please esculate this petition" and low and behold I was helped.

/completely utlimately honestly really signed
and because a simple "signed" is considered to be spam in here (which makes me laugh at times) i hereby add somemore blabla in order to play according to the rules. I can also state explicitly that i agree with the whole quote. Cheers. -- This game is still in beta stage |

he would have then gotten concorded in the previous system

The few times I've to deal with GM's, I've had absolutely no problems. They have been friendly, helpfull and very informative. I've gotten a few ships reimbursed, but most of the time, I know its my own fault when i lose a ship . Perhaps you need to revise how you write the petition, ie don't start in a hostile, unfriendly and/or demanding tone. Have as much fact as possible and keep it short and precise. Reread the petition before you submit it, so you are sure it actually makes sense. Not saying that GM's are perfect, but if you read 500 petitions a day and the 450 of them are hostile and/or "time wasters", it becomes very likely that you would jump to conclusions or misread it.
OP: I do hope you get your ship back and that they fix the bug. Personally, I have not experienced the problem yet. One question in this regard, the pirates you shot at, were they in any way friendly towards the owners of the next system? (If were in Angle space shooting Republic Fleet ships, it would make sense that the aggro would turn GCC if you entered a Republic system)

Maybe you should also bug report it. If they get enough bug reports, they may actually investigate it.

Well, apparently I inadvertenly sent a repair drone out to rep an NPC, as opposed to my own drone that was damaged, thus triggering the Global criminal counter.
So as not to quote a Gm directly, "Oops, your own damn fault, new feature in REV II. "
So some words of advice to fellow mission runners, Add repair drones to the list of drones you should not use on missions, as they lead to unpredictable results. Police Commander places an excellent hit on you, inflicting 2669.3 damage. |

Well, sorry for that loss. However this behaviour is indeed very predictable. Remote repairing a criminal is a criminal act no matter if that criminal is an npc or a player. This may look a bit weird but it was (imo) put in place to protect mission runners from griefing. That kind where someone scans your mission (in hisec) and starts remote repping the npcs so that you can't finish the mission or even worse...
From that point it really makes sense, because their was no other way of protection before. Hope you recover soon. gl
