Edited by: Maloth on 28/01/2004 06:08:36 I'd like to believe this info is wrong and I wont have to recreate. Some player told me that gunnery will be changing its primary stat from willpower to perception and pointed me to this site. No idea how accurate or whatnot it is.
http://42.110110.org/eve/1360to78.html
I started off as an Amarr, Amarr seeing as they had a high willpower and since I wanted to do some combat I ended up with 14willpower at creation and 8 or so intelligence i believe(for electronics).Perception is currently at 7 with no points into the learning skill for it.
I've been enjoying this game a great amount and have been progessing nicely in skills and am currently pretty close to 200,000 in a weeks time with lvl 3's across the board. However I wouldn't hesitate to delete this character if all that willpower turns out to be a waste and could cost me days-weeks-months of training time. It seems like only leadership really requires willpower as a primary and its' not even a skillset id really consider.
If this were infact the case and gunnery was changed to perception....
Should I just restart and make a character with perception as the primary(maybe advice for other stat-frigate orientated character)? Or would that 14starting(16currently with 2 in iron will)) willpower do good as a secondary stat for gunnery?
I'm really not sure what to do here....being a new player I'm kind of dissapointed that I've spent a week on a character and already I've run into a serious skill-time-related dilemna.
Sorry for that spew of info and thoughts. Also, I would not hesitate to delete the character and start over if my choice of stats created a problem in training time.

I have the same dilemma. My character was created all-round - unfortunately Charisma happened to be his highest attribute. 7 months into this game it's hard to change your mind though
If I were you I'd create a new character with emphasiz on Intelligence and Perception. Intelligence is really, really important (even for a fighter) and those two skills are the best used "primary" skills. Memory most often serves as a secondary to Intelligence and there are instances where you will use Intelligence only without Memory (e.g Navigational skills).
Just my thoughts! /Nightfang

I would recreate and either make a minmatar or a caldari with high perc/int and the rest points in mem/will. This is if you want to be a fighter, 200k skillpoints is nothing, you will earn that in a month if you got better attributes.

I guess it's swings and roundabouts. My character would actually benefit from this change

I have a willpower char but willpower is worthless now since its not the pri attribute for gunnery anymore

I'm glad now that willpower is my lowest stat. Nothing to see here .... move along. |

The most important thing regardless of your character type is to research all your learning skills to level 5. This will have a dramatic effect on learning times, regardless of what initial attributes you have.
There are a lot of posts on this subject, so trawl through this sub-forum.
As a point of note: benefits for each additional point in a skill diminish with each level, however you will find you are badly penalised for any attribute less than 12.
After that, you can get implants. | Join eve-webring.com to promote your site. |

I welcome this change very much :) I chose a miner when I started a while ago, getting high mem and perception. I didn't train gunnery too much, until now. I need to keep up with the rats that the agents dish out to me. And now my high perception helps out.
Thanks CCP! Now it was my turn to be lucky. :)
