HaHa total domination, can one person cripple Eve, theoretically yes
If a single person has enough money, they could strangle Eve
Crippling a region is a lot cheaper but could be done for a longer time than crippling all the universe
So what is your thoughts about that, I don't want to write how it could be done because some silly person probably would try
just a bit of light entertainment while they blow dry the server, drying it because somebody knocked their beer over

Is it me or since that huge sum of isk has been stolen (suposively) people have been asking all sort of doomsday economic questions. And I have no answers...

No single person can ever strangle the entire EVE universe. There will always be noobs joining the game, mining veldspar or killing training drones, just like there will always be veterans in some backwater 0.0 system, doing the exact same thing, just on a larger scale ((better roids, bigger NPCs)...
So even if one person could control the market in EVE, that person could never, ever, single-handledly, control the game itself...

I seem to recall that someone did this to Paxton Enterprises not to long ago. Moved into their region and wiped out the markets. After a few days Paxton admitted defeat and met the ransom demand.
The market killer then re-seeded all the gear they bought at slightly inflated prices and still won mightily.

You're most likely referring to someone purchasing every item in a regions market just to empty it. It would be funny, but it would be a huge waste of isk.
UNless of course they had a team of freighters they could make a Jita system of their choice.
1. Buy everything on the market. (Hundreds of billion easily)
2. Freight it all to one system. (Make those pirates system the new lag hub  )
3. Make everything 5 or 10% more to amass a good deal of profit.
Would be a large project. But imagine if a corp dedicated theirself to doing this to every low sec region.
Theyd Win Eve!

theoretically if somebody would ( with billions) and then some, put buy orders in a region for all the minerals then this in theory would cripple the region, with no minerals, minerals would have to be bought in
if you had people controlling the gates, (I don't know how hard the police are) a few titans (4654)at each gate blowing every ship up, maybe, it will never happen
actually it's gone past my bedtime 10 hours ago
