Not trying to pass judgement (it's your isk so do what you like), it's just that to dec a single corp would cost you 50m isk instead of 2m. I had looked at making an alliance (before the patch allowed us to set corp -> alliance standings) but I was really put off by the higher wardec costs. Reason for creating a alliance is I will soon recruit other Merc corps into it, and it also allows us to receive POS fuel reduction and to claim sov.
