So, since I sold my Raven I started doing level 3's in a Drake which is doing very nice including the Extravaganza's to save up LP( currently at 40k) for a Navy Megathron...but the question, is it worth it? I intend to do level 4's with it and spec as a Railthron(ofcourse I first need to train the t2 guns) with AM ammo...some people said going Blasters was riskier so...wondered if its feasible at all...and whether going Amarr or Minmattar would do wonders, despite their longer skill training

All the turret battleships equally suck compared to the Dominix and Raven.
Anything that can tank a level 4 is viable, it's just slower for obvious reasons.

40k? only 560k to go!
buy back the raven and do lvl4's, you'll get 10x more cash and much better LP(around 6k for decent missions)
My lowest Faction standing is with......Caldari, bugger it 'The Forge' is full of noobs!!

Lies. The Abaddon can actually beat the CNR in the correct missions, the railboats also live up to a standard Raven, only the minmatar ships are somewhat gimped due to low arty dps, and even those probably beat a cruise Raven against Angels. It is just a question of fitting and knowing the missions well. I guess if you go for mindless permatanking the Raven wins, but if you do a minimum tank maximum gank setup the turret boats do quite okay when you fit 2-3 damage and tracking mods.

what you said sooo wrong in soo many ways :P
i use a sleip and a astarte to do missions and i can tell you that i do missions faster whit them than i did whit my faction fitted torp raven. (lvl 4s ofc)

if you really want a navy mega do as a previous poster said, get your raven back and do lvl 4's. Also forget LP's - you will have enough isk to buy one off the market way before you get 500k LP.

Yes - do lv4's for the LP
Try a standard Megathron first
The gunboats aren't faster than ravens and stuff, but they work and they require some attention to steer properly through danger. Besides guns look cooler IMO
Btw - Im using a Rokh... I guess it's different but it's still cool - take advantage of the Megathron Dronebay.
