Ok seriously what do you like, dig deep, get to the bottom of what it is you like about eve.
I like The ships I like flying around in a big universe with other people I like that it runs well on my laptop I like that I can pay for my game with in game money. I like the pretty graphics and I like the friends ive made. ( Cant get this stuff anywhere else)
Then I realised the only reason I play eve is i cant get this anywhere else, and if I could i would be gone in a hearbeat. So many things about EVE sucks in fact EVE just plain old sucks, so many bugs , hell drones still never listen tons of lag, tons of griefers ,tons of crap upon more crap, that ccp keeps shoving up our asses. And the whole game is designed to make you play 24/7 if you want to acheive anything, logging into EVE feels like working all the time, its jus not fun when you "Have to" do stuff.
But sadly I love flying around in spaceships and cant get this anywhere else, and I think CCP knows this.
So dig down deep and think about why you play eve what do you REALLY like and I bet for alot of people you will be suprised.

about an hour ago a month older player (lol, 28 days!) in a punisher took the officers keycard from me in a deadspace complex, Flashy-flashy red he goes. i was engraged I tell you! i locked him and equipped my multifreq crystals then F1 F2 F3! i was possessed, I was attacking another player with a murder in my heart. he seemed shocked, and my 3 day old punisher tore his shields away and started on his armour, by this time he was firing back and my shields were down too; yet my armour tank seemed to hold well against his lasers, and he was falling into structure so he warped off, leaving me BEAMING with joy - finally some pvp that doesn't involve a year old player ganking me in a low sec belt! :)
I really hope for some more of this toe-to-toe laser action, oh yeah!

PvP is definatly the best part of eve for me. Especially the small gang warfare. Nothing like the adrinalin rush when enemy starts shooting your hull and you get the chance to overpower him/her and gain the upper hand again :).
But I have to say that all that got destroyed lately by the outnumbering-tactics and the technical problems :(.

Nothing does more to improve quality and value than a little competition. Roll on some competition for Eve Online which truely appeals to the sci-fi fan. Plenty in the pipeline. Maybe thats the shot in the arm CCP need to start listening to some of the constructive posts on these forums. Search the web peeps, theres some really interesting alternative MMOs brewing.
Packing any product with a huge list full of features completely ignores what truely adds value for the customer. CCP should be more need focussed, than features obsessed.

Well Kass, I for one understand what you're going through. As you can see from the posts above, none of them really give a flying F, however. But it's ok, lucky for us we don't ever have to meet them in RL. Just keep on flying, no matter what game you move to. EVE won't last forever, and these people will have to move on like everyone else.

don't give a flying f about what?
freedom? eve isn't going anywhere. it will never die. the company has JUST started. sure eve may shut down but only for a new space game that ccp makes. Which won't happen because they already are making one. :P and with the World of darkness game coming out, CCP and whitewolf will be around forever and with nive full pockets of cash.
but more importantly a game they love. a game that like real life isn't fair. ----------------------------------- I'm working my way through college target CCP |

We had a pretty nice time tonight. We were mining Space Stonehenge in Vey in Placid. The system was mostly quiet, and then a few pirates came into the system camping the station, which we only got our industrials away because luckily the station was pre-aligned to the site.
Only by chance did we notice that they began probing the system. They arrived at the site as our last ship was walking away. And then thank god for my Helios to watch them. No fighting actually happend, but the cat and mouse was fun, and broke up a day of mining.

Im having fun playing it. For example, at login I usually:
- Check if someone has bought some of my stuff I have on the market - Check if someone has undercut me and adjust prices to stay competitive - Check if some of my manufacturing jobs are done yet - Look at LP shop stuff, trying to decide what to go for next - See what I want to try next in Eve and start planning skills to get there(right now its flying a cov op frigate, I have something I want to try that requires one. :)). - Run a few level 4 missions and see the LP and wallet increase while listening to some nice music ive downloaded off the net. :)
Then I have tons of stuff I havent tried yet... like:
- Exploration - Salvaging - Scanning for people in deadspace - Running low sec complexes while constantly checking for pirates :) - Invention - Blueprint research and more advanced manifacturing - Getting a mothership for kicks
And thats just scratching the surface. Eve has tons of stuff to try. Its not just shooting npc's. ---

As soon as the eve homeworld 2 mod comes out I'm gone. Basically I like the ships and basic idea behind building an empire. I just want a game like emipire earth + outpost and not have to play starcraft. If the whole large fleet battle thing wasn't such a horrible experience in this game I would have nothing to complain about.
I remember being in LV during the JV1 invasion thinking "god this gonna be epic. Our 300 ships vs. their 1000." And obviously I knew it was just gonna be a total lagfest but it would have been nice to be able to fight it out and seen what happened.
So basically eve can offer a lot because there is nothing else like this on the market and where they fall short is delivering the epic nature of space battle. They have this game all set up for giant epic battles but end up not being able to deliver because of hardware/coding problems. However I still get a thrill out of flying in gank squads and pirating.
