After posting petition, i was advised by CCP Abraxas to post on forum.
Petition Email:
Quote:Why in the hell, in 21th century, you only allow a male character to use male clothes and acessories?
I want to use female clothing on my male character.
best regards Amallya
response:
Quote:Hi there,
Thank you for contacting customer support. While you bring up a perfectly reasonable point regarding the clothing disparity, I'm afraid we at Customer Support can not deal with game design requests here, but we strongly encourage you to post on the forums on this issue, either under the Features and Ideas section, or the Council of Stellar Management section in order for a CSM member to review your suggestion and potentially bring it to the attention of the developers.
Best regards,
GM Abraxas EVE Online Customer Support |

I don't think he intended for you to post the Petition response here on the forums; but rather, (if you really wish and were not just trolling the petition system), what you believed was a valid argument to this effect.
Frankly, I don't see the need for it, and think maybe you should read the forum rules and such. |

troll or not to troll, it's your decision.
i just posted the response of the petition to contextualize. to others see that this idea didn't appear from nothing. and after all, this is a good point to talk about. and a serious one.
i don't need to read forum rules (i know the rules), because it's perfectly clear that this is a good suggestion to the game.
please post good comments, and constructive ideias.
thanks |

Statistically most cross-dressers are heterosexual. like the scottish, or the scandinavians... not the kinda people you would want to insult if you saw them wearing a manskirt...
but yeah, if ANYTHING, at LEAST add Kilts to the NeX store, ebcause even after eleventy bajillion eyars and a dark age, you cant SERIOUSLY expect the scottish genes to have vanished from the New Eden settlers, adn as we all know, the uncontrollabel urge to wear manskirts is built into the scottish man's psyche....
TL;DR we need more scottmen and scott-koreans playing EvE, add kilts and you open EvE up to an entirely new consumer audience that will eb mroe then happy to pillage and plunder all of goonsec and the Lands Formally Known As The New Soviet Union |

I Liked the original post which I guess is the new way to support a topic in Features and Ideas Discussion. They should allow clothing to be worn by either gender regardless of which gender the clothing was intended for.
To ask about Nova Fox's point. I wonder how the clothing should be cut. Should men's pants look too big on a woman? should heels look too small on a man? or the clothing be cut as though it actually fit the avatar correctly when used on an opposite gender avatar? |

And that there is the design question of the month it would be up to the art director to set that. I wouldnt mind seeing a mix of the three but if comes down to it the cut to fit would have to do.
either way the pants and T-shirts should ahve been all bi-gender to begin with.

I would like to see the ability to wear wrong sized clothing as well. Charlie Chaplin's Tramp character, anyone?

I think the entire development team around the carbon character creation is prepared for this.
For example, if a man has the palm of the foot 30cm, the shoe should grow in proportion. this happens to clothing when it is put more muscle or less.
the only question is the height. is the height of a man is identical to a woman in character creation? |

I think they should leave it alone, now that it's launched.
By leaving it as-is, they're simply modeling the game after normal society. That's how 99.9% of people dress in everyday life. It isn't taking an anti-transsexual stance, it's simply how things normally are.
By changing things now, on request from pro-trans people, it could be perceived by many as taking a pro-transsexual stance, rather than being neutral as before. I dunno about you, but I wouldn't want my company to be dragged into that nightmare of a PR situation. To stay politically correct there, they'd have to add in clothing for every prevalent group of people that commonly has distinct items of clothing. (Burkas, Kippas, whatever you call those things that amish women wear, etc...)
Also, for a practical argument, this would mean making new models and skins of every single item of clothing, to fit the character models. |

How can you say what's normal 50000 years in the future? Why is what's normal in the amarr empire the same as what's normal in the gallente federation?
Arguing for 'normal society' makes you look transphobic. |

Its a space ship game, adding transgender stuff is just off topic and out of place. Maybe if this was the Sims it would be an issue. |
