Ok, i went to download 9.0b, downloaded, and restarted. When i attempted to run EVE again, it said i didnt have it. Any answers? Also, when i click connect at the EVE login screen, nothing happens.

Eve worked well yesterday and this morning, no problems with Direct x.
One more Patch and b00m. Can't play. Thanks.....
After every single patch Eve makes problems and needs another fix. why?
I know i have dx9b since i installed it just 2 weeks ago .
Direct x dialog also shows me Direct X 9b.
So please, fix that bug.

same here i run eve and it also says i havent got dx 9.0b installed but ive had it installed for ages, and as soon as im in the game it crashes

I've got the same problem, tried a full reinstall and repatch, no luck. Hopefully the dev team will see this thread farily soon..

In ...Eve\script\sys open autoexec.py using notepad. Go down to where you see # Startup. 2 or 3 lines below that you should see the line:
musthave = 0x00090002 # 9.0b
Change this to
musthave = 0x000902 # 9.0b
Save the file and that's it.

doesnt work for me... i cant find that line, i can see the # start up, but not the musthave = 0x00090002 # 9.0b help?

You can play even without this fix (you just get the message every time you start up). Just click "yes" on the dialog box and then forget about it.

well me changed it but the thing still won't work now i can't even select my character i see the news and where the charachters suppose to be but there aren't any i tried everything checking temp. all over my pc reinstalling the game etc. me don't like the problems please fix it asap

To be safe don't use the wordpad or write program, use the notepad mentioned before here.
Wordpad/write doesn't save text files the same as notepad.

Well, I had this problem and the fix sugegsted here sorts it out - but still since the last patch I can see all the windows etc when I log in, but the graphics are all missing... no ship, no stars.. nothing, just a black background with lots of windows on...
Any ideas..? I'm running a ti4200, latest drivers, 9b, on WinME, athlon 1.2.
I also completely reinstalled EVE from scratch and still no luck.
I'm stumped, and I guess will cancel my subscription if I cant get it working
