ok... AN MEGA PULSE LASER damage modifier 3,75 MEGA PULSE LASER II damage modifier 3,6
with my skills in the same ship i get : MPL II damage modifier 7,08 AN MPL damage modifier 6,94
anyone can explain why?

Megapulse IIs are affected by Large Pulse Laser Specialization, giving 2% to damage per level.
Amarr Navy Megapulse are not.

Maybe because the T2 variant gets a bonus from the large laser spec skill?

Because you bought your char for ISK/on ebay.
Spec skill gives 2% extra dmg per level.

no i didnt bought my character on ebay it just happens to use faction lasers from lp store for the first time :p

Well lets see... if you've been in game long enough to train t2 large guns, one would think that you would know something about game mechanics... T2 larges are only what... 4 months to train, assuming you dont train anything else.

On the other hand... i know a Raven/caldari-only guy that is in the game for 4 years now and still has to ask for a good raven mission fitting.

all this applys to named guns also right? i have reading this forums for the last 6 months daily... and i have read countless posts saying that the only diference between best named lasers and tech 2 is that tech 2 can load tech 2 crystals... find me 5 posts that saying tech 2 guns can actually do more damage ...

I really wonder what makes a guy look worse: Training T2 large guns without knowing the spec skill effect, or buying an advanced char without clue...

Yes, only tech 2 guns are affected by the specialization skill damage bonus.

Well, give the guy a break, it was a semi-understandable mistake... not everybody knows that gunnery damage related skills (base turret skill, surgical strike, ship skill bonuses and also gun specialisation... even implant damage bonuses too, also "weapon upgrade" damage mods and effect of damage rigs) are all applied directly to (and is displayed in showinfo) the damage mod of a certain gun Same for RoF.
For instance, ballistic control damage is NOT applied to showinfo on missiles inside launchers on your ships, but skill bonus damage is... meanwhile, RoF is correctly displayed on launchers.

I always raise an eyebrow when I see ppl asking how to fit their capital ship...

Hey, I see people fiting several damage mods AND damage/rof rigs all day long. I don't call them "ebayed chars"
