When you receive a mail telling you a POS is low on resources the mail states exactly where the tower is located, but when a tower is being attacked, the mail lacks the location. What gives?

well, i guess it isn't really important. cause it's a certain system that's under attack. so if you have more towers there. you're not just protecting 1. but also the others... ------------- CCP employee: "look this is broken, lets fix it" later: "\o/ yay, fixed" result: the thing that was broken is still broken, in the process they also broke some other stuff... THNX!!

Yeah, I am just saying that with the technology to be able to see exactly which tower is low, the same should be applied to damage notices.

Not exactly. This is true for sovereignty and 0.0, but what about low-sec operations? In low sec, it's often 1 specific POS that's under attack, and not "the whole system".
I agree with the OP - this doesn't seem like it would be difficult to add nor have any negative impact on the game - only positive.

We have about 30 towers in one system. When one gets attacked I have to search for it, defended or not. I am not really complaining, just wondering what inbalance, if any, would be the result of revealing the attacked tower's location.
It does matter, as I would find this very useful.
