Which ship is good for solo ganking? Can ride Caldari, Minmatar and Gallente (Can't really decide on race :P).. Doesnt really matter if it's missile or gunnery, since I haven't decided that either :) Tho I kinda like drones.. But the ship musnt use it..

Go for gallente if you are looking for dps. Most gallente ships can do more dps than the same tier counterpart in Caldari _______________________________________________

+achesis lacks the dps, they will have time enough to call in help or if theyre fast get away or get to close.
I'd say Blasterthron or nosdomi. Blasterthron probably got a slight upper hand.

Depends on where you're hunting.
If you're roaming through 0.0, your best bet is either a very fast ship or a cloaker, as you will most commonly meet gangs way too big to take on by yourself.
I'd say a vagabond is the best, if you can afford to pimp it to over 6-7k/s. And the pilgrim takes second place, because the nos / tracking disruption is a mean ass combo - and the cloak can get you out of a most tight spots.
If you like drones, an Ishtar is also a great ship - only it's too slow to survive a camp or the sudden appearance of a roaming gang.

vagabond tbh :)
my t2 fitted vaga does 6km/s whit no snakes or gang.... its a fast enough ship to mess about in 0.0 and low sec :) (i liked low sec hauler ganking :P bastards didnt even have a chance.. even tho they had 3 stabs or more :P) --------------------------------------- Sig killed by MODs.... reworking it Great being Gallente... aint it ? ----------------- YARRRR, sig hijack! -HornFrog ----------------- |

Edited by: Susa Ou on 24/07/2007 11:08:12 The Minmatar FOTM is at it again. Gallente ships are regarded as the most versitle and useful in pvp both solo and gang - Minmatar ships are just high risk, which may get the blood pumping, but it also hurts the walltes. Resist the FOTM calls.
The Myrm is a solid solo ganker - I would go for that line of ship, then the EOS.

5 ogres II push out a very very nice dps for a ship able to roam around 4-5km/s
The only bad point is that you must be pretty smart for not losing your ogres every time you undock :)
Vagabond is wonderful as always for taking out target in 0.0 but well, for exemple we have plenty of vagas roaming our area and after taking some losses now we have always ships ready for taking them and we blowed up a tons of those.
For pure gankage there is a big problem with astarte or even megathron, if you are alone you can't check both side of a gate and after you kill some stuff ppl organize for ****in you, so you need a nano ship for avoiding bubbles/tackers at gate, otherwise with an astarte if they place a small gang even without bubble you just die horribly.
is bad to accept but nano-ships are superior if you want to pvp alone.
If we have to talk about caldari, i saw some very very expensive nano-cerberus fitting, not so fast but pretty good if you can't fly gallente/minmatar, if i remember well my corpmate fitted 5 heavy assault missle on it and had pretty good speed out of the baby :)

avoid Caldari tbh. Minmatar is more skill intensive, generally. You're looking for speed and both Gallente and Minmatar have that going for their ships designs, however, in general, i think Minmatar have an advantage on range but at the expense of DPS due to not really ever being within optimal range, rather using it's falloff advantage. Seems like Minmatar ships allow you to dictate situations (e.g. successfully retreat) more so any other ships, but you can't beat the potential DPS of Gallente design philosophy.

/signed at caldari, they are PVE. :P
But.. mate.. Gallente, speed? eh :-)
Oh and btw, 'ganking' originates from 'gang killing' imho so 'solo ganking' doesn't make sense. Enough pedantic stuff, though
Gallente are very nice damage-dealers when they are in webrange. if they ever get into webrange. ----- Signature:

The question is quite broad. Solo excludes most Caldari ships though, funfortunately*. Basically you could go with any Min/Gal close-range BS, for example.
Or Command Ship for that matter (Nighthawk isn't bad either but you can't really fit propulsion on it without gimping your setup so if you're going to 0.0 or pirating, maybe not the best choice). Of the Command Ships I would recommend Eos most due to it's damage and range versatility (drones) and the extra midslot over the astarte.
As for smaller ships: Myrmi and Hurricane are great and cheap. Of HACs, Vagabond is obvious, and Ishtar isn't bad either but not much better than Myrmi (or arguably worse; if you go into 0.0 Myrmi's limited drone bay is a bigger disadvantage). I wouldn't recommend any other BC's or HACs. If you want to go with a cruiser, Stabber is probably the best suited, then Thorax and Vexor.
That's pretty much it. If I had to pick one right now, I'd probably go with a Hurricane (but that's probably because I started flying them 2 days ago).
*This typo was completely accidental, yet a great new word left leaving. ---
