heh eve is ALL ABOUT ramming your playstyle down someone else's throat. Don't like pvp? Suicide gankers or low sec gate campers will cramp your style. Prefer to mine in peace? Loot thieves will swipe your hard work at a moments notice. Prefer missions? Sure, just don't try any level 5s or you'll get scanned down and popped while the npcs have their way with you.
ahhh gotta love eve :) ========== CELES KB: http://www.celeskills.com

BS's have (IMO) too many ways to counter smaller ships, thus people tend to fly them alot. As a solo-, dedicated cruiser/BC sized pilot, its giving me a hard time.

IS that not balanced though, by the fact they are waaaay more expensive to buy, insure & equip then said smaller ships?
Im a BC pilot mostly myself, but id expect to be kicked by a BS that cost about 3x as much as my ship.

Seems most people that fly small frigates/cruisers in combat want a battleship to be a giant, lumbering target, with no defense at all to small ships. I suppose in a game to be balanced it should be possible...but if you think about it realistically, a battleship in eve has far too few defenses against small ships. No point defense laser thingies, machine guns, auto-targeting missile systems like any self respecting super ship should have to fend off those pesky fighters. If anything battleships, carriers, dreadnoughts, titans whatever should have piles more anti-frigate/anti drone weaponry. But for now, its as balanced as it should be (cept for nos kinda) and a group of frigates should be able to drop a battleship...eventually...with heavy losses. People fly what they want to, and pay the prices...should be no hate on either side.
this post is probly horrible to read. im tired

Yeah, if you do a full civilian fitting.
- 40 mil for fittings, 1 hour of npcing in a half decent system. - 30 mil for insurance, another 1 hour of npcing. - getting almost all your isk back? priceless

your wrongness is the size of a galaxy. Battleships are expensive, they are priced well, unless your some megarich hardcore player or uberminer they are pretty tough to replace properly if you are a regular player that does not score endless free ships off their corp. Please remember we arent all minted.

You are joking right? i dont even make 70 mil in a week and thats ratting in 0.0 for a couple of hours a night.
PPL like you have things like cap ships to aim for, leave BS as the "big" ship that relatively low earners / regular players like myself can aim for realisticly.

This reminds me of the beret argument with the US military.... "Lets give everyone a beret instead of the ones who have proven themselves and earned it so everyone feels better about themselves." It took me a month to get my megathron, not the shortest amount of time to get into a ship, but not the longest. If you set money away you can easyly eventually afford even a carrier, all it really takes is commitment to a set plan and a setup that allows you to make money.
Either that or realize that you need to adapt to max out your method of combat against a target or perish.

70 mil per week in 0.0? you lie. i made some 500mil by just killing 1 chained bs every 20 minutes to fix my sec.
besides, you're a goon. you are not supposed to fly battleships.

Just curious, how did you get like 70-80 mil in your first month?

They all fly something more expensive and still fail at pvp.
Probably 99% fly vaga and curse, and sometimes some BS will actually kill them, this is obvious a problem with the game and thus people need to be forced out of them by way of <crybaby> to CCP to change the game in their advantage.

Thats about how long it took me to get my first BS. It wasnt my first month, but once I decided to get one, it took about a month of leisurely running l2s and I purchased one. I would think that now with missions being much more lucrative, you could could get one in probably a shade over 2 weeks running l2s. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. can i answer this? no matter, i will because im bored and its too hot for the beach.
find a noob friend. spend your first few weeks skilling for cruisers while you grind missions for the ship. go with your friend to .0 using a scout alt. settle in some quiet .0 system.
you will make some 10mil/hour, depending on the system. as soon as someone enters, just log off. CTRL + Q is the shortcut.

Why do you assume I got it in my first month? Ive been playing for about 5 months now and started saving for my ship in the third.

I hate to admit it, but you are right. Its so easy to fit a t1 rupture to go out and PVP and recoup my losses with a night of mission running in highsec with very little risk.
Once I get the skills to do L3s and 4s with more ease, then I will be able to fit battleships rinse and repeat. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. Eh I dont completely agree. Running an L2 mission with an effective rep of 28 on my agent with a base of +17 im lucky to clear a million with reward, time bonus, salvage and anything else I sell or choose to (its a habit of mine to reprocess the crap modules for their minerals to use to make my ammo, poor economic region). Plus you also have to take into account the possibility of being probed down and someone ninja salvaging your wrecks while you fight you can easyly be jipped out of alot of your potental earnings.

TBH, I dont even bother with the wrecks. I run l2 missions from two agents at a time and will often pickup some lvl1s sometimes... all from the same station. Then I just spend the next hour completeing 3 and sometimes 4 missions at once warping shooting and collecting loot and turn it all in under the bonus time. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. Heh. Then is when you'll find out that T1 doesn't cut it. And that T2 doesn't either. And that, oh my, faction stuff is ridiculously expensive.

I thought about that, but I plan on gang running at that point because its more fun anyways.
