With a drone bay capacity of 75m, enabling at least 7 medium size drones, how does one control all 7 when the Drones skill allows only 5 max at level V? Please advise...

You canŠt control all of them... except on ships like carriers and motherships, you can never control more than 5 drones at a time. This means that any extra drones are replacements, or, in cases where dronebays are really big (dominix and eos, for example), you can carry different sets of drones to do different tasks.

Best to carry 5 medium and 5 light drones on the arbitrator. Whip out the lights when you have alot of fast frigates to kill, otherwise use the meds.
It helps to right click on your drones in the overview and add them to a group for ease of launch. i.e. call one group medium, then you only have to click on the medium tab in the drones overview and launch.

you could try 2 heavy, 2 medium and 1 small = 75 drone space used.

2h, 2m, 1s - in both t1 and t2 form does better dps than their 5m counterpart, however, like the post before this:
5m and 5s drones (both t2 preferably) will suit your better over time. With the Arb's drone bonuses they do an excellent amount of dps. Enough to take out BS solo, and what more can you ask for. And having 5s backup drones for fast moving frigs or just backups in case your meds get popped, isn't a bad idea.
Having 2h 2m 1s may do more DPS, but your heavies are extremely slow, which makes hitting frigs next to impossible, and if you start losing drones you're pretty much done for.

Then your damage arrives in waves, but the the Heavy's might go AWOL and disregard you every 10 seconds.

For the Arb (and it's big brothers) I just carry 7 valk IIs. Some people like to pop drones, and it's nice having spares. I had to finish off a Vaga with mostly light drones once... that learned me.

Ok...since this thread is about drones, and nyx being brought up... lemme get this off my chest since I've always wanted to see this.
The only problem is I can't think of a mothership pilot sitting around doing this UNLESS it was 100% safe and they were the only one on the server.
Ok, motherships can field what, 25 drones? I'm not sure as I don't fly one(obviously, or I'd find a system and do this crap myself for ****s and giggles)
First off, you need to understand this trick as I've done with with smaller ships and it's slightly amusing for a short while.
You can field 5 drones and have 5 remote rep/shield drones. Proceed to lock each one and wait, make the second one rep the first, third rep second, so on and so forth until the fifth is repping the fourth. You make the first one rep the last one.
This will cause them to rotate in a ring as the drones approach the next one, forming a circle of rep... but, what I imagined once was... what would 25 or even MORE drones doing this look like? AN ASTEROID BELT OF DRONES!!!(edit, meant like the real life asteroid belt/ring between mars/jupiter...or soemwhere around there... not eve's clumped rocks spinning in a set position)
Mothership was my first thought, as they can control the most amount of drones by themselves.
