hmm curious anyone else notice rather nasty freezes after traveling for a while and entering a new system?
Restarting the app seems to fix it but ehh at one stage it gets so bad that I had to hard- reboot my comp since it stopped responding compleatly. Only really noticed it after traveling about 15 systems... Moving on patch day ftl

Yeah, I'm getting CTD's because of it, rather than freezing.

No it isn't just you. Before this patch i had 0 problems, this was supposedly ment to fix a memory leak problem a very small minority of users had.
therefore it give me great pleasure to inform you ccp have increased the occurrences, ive had my client open for 5 hours and im using 6/700 megs more memory than usually (slowly rising. 20 people currently on our voip, 5 having problems (4 gradually locking up, one just total corrupt client each time he attempts to patch or reinstall, so qudos ccp.
Patches occasionally go wrong, but to the point where it effects 1/4....

looks to me in my... limited technological expertise that CCP have ballsed this up completely. CCP from my perspective have to bring down Tranq immediately, roll back the system and start again instead of trying to hotfix or release another patch. This looks like it could be the beginning of the end...

Running two clients. One stays docked in station, the other one made 30+ jumps.
The docked account client uses 70 Megs of virtual memory. The traveller is at 370+ Megs virtual memory usage, still growing
Got that nice Windows message telling me it is now expanding VM space on disk
That is new since the patch ...

Hi,
Sadly I do not have a work around for this. We have found the cause of this problem, but it will not be deployed until tomorrow/thursday.
Thank you for your patience in this matter and please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

Definitely a memory leak. Task Manager in XP shows EVE taking up over 650mb of RAM, growing at the rate of approximately 500kb per second. Exiting the program doesn't actually close the app...you need to manually end the exefile.exe process to release the memory. This problem was fixed nearly a year ago. Seems it's back from the dead. ----------------------------------- You will be assimilated...bunghole! |

Even with 1 client running and making a couple of jumps... VM goes up to 1 gig. This is some serious memory leak.
Tried yesterday to see how high i could get VM. Comp froze around 2.2 gig VM after 50 jumps dual accounting.
Had to use the hard reboot, lol

Noticed extreme sluggishness with multiple Eve windows open. Opened XP Pro Task Mgr, saw over 4 GB of pagefile in use. Closed all but two Eve windows. PF usage didn't drop. Training step completed in one window and PF usage dropped in two large steps to 2.2 GB. Closed both Eve windows but PF usage never went below 1.99 GB. Rebooted, system came up using only 216 MB of pagefile. Opened one Eve window, quickly went to 416 MB, then slowly rose without pause, now at 525 MB. During this I had nothing else open, was running nothing else, and doing nothing in the Eve window.
FPS rate is also very poor. With a single window open I get 38 fps. I'm sure I've seen over 100 fps when Eve was running better.

I went afk for a couple hours last night and when I came back the eve proces was using 1.8 gigs of memory. I've never had a single memory leak prior to the patch.

Yes once again ccp's awesome coders have created a wonderful memory leak eve started using over a gig of ram after just 4 hrs of popping innocent haulers last night. Test your bloody patches before releasing them ccp.
