CCP, you need to cut the fat on EVE, you keep adding and adding new "SHINE" that are bogging down that game.
I never remember lag like this start until RMR and then it was acceptable lag, but now what fleet battles have turn into is undercutting what eve is all about, PVP.
This game used to be #1 in PVP for a long time and thast why I always played it, but now its almost imposable to have any fun what so ever pvping because it take 4 minutes to reload my guns and frame rate is sickening.
I love huge Fleet battles and I know a lot of others feel the same way.
you need to wake up and smell the roses DEV's CCP, stop focusing on making eve look good, and make it work good, like it used to.
If it ant broken, don't fix it.

There was allways a lag in large Fleet Battles. And if we go back to 6k players online - Relevation II would run awesome.

I would love to see the good old times without capital ships and outposts, where players in a t2 fitted BS were rarly seen...sure it was a hard time without freighters in 0.0 but it was fun ;)

i left shortly before RMR and only came back to the game a week ago, and tbh so far all i seem to have encountered is nerf after nerf on each of the things i used to focus on and immense lag.
So far ive had to pretty much redevelop my character from the ground up and have the prospect of a 60 day wait before he begins to approach the level of effectiveness he was at before, and ive given up even trying to play after 9pm (server time) as the frequent server deaths and lag spikes make it unplayable.
I remember the days when we had just managed to reach 14k users online at any time and it was possible to actually rent out a lab without waiting months for a slot, i could play lag free on 56k and whilst the population was more sparse, to me it was a lot more fun.
Im going to stick with it a month to see wether i can really get back into the swing of things, but i have to agree with the OP, a great deal has been changed to make this a slick, glossy mainstream game, and while thats all well and good, i cant help but agree that maybe its time to stop polishing this thing and get back to tuning up the engine a little.
