Let me ask you a series of questions: 1.Do you play less than 5 hours in a day?I know i do sometimes im lucky to log on at all.(gotta love that offline training) 2.Do you have kids and need to pay attention to them in a moments notice?(I have a daughter) 3.On weekends would you rather be outside on a beautiful sunnyday? 4.If you have played other mmorpg's then im sure you got tired of required meetings when you could just be playing right? 5.Ever had to go afk from the game(in eve or otherwise)on short notice only to return and the players you were adventuring with are mad at you?
If you answered yes to at least 3 of these questions then you (like me) are a casual gamer.
Im proposing a corporation just for casual gamers. We would have no stockholders meetings. There would be no rules. If you want to donate to the corp fund you can.Although i do envision this being a "bank"as it were for new players.
This would be a corporation for the more "mature" players. If you want to gank someone then do so!!If you want to just mine go ahead!!If you want to do missions so be it.
Ive a name in mind that would encourage roleplaying to add to the fun.Ive even worked up a bio for the corp itself.
Im merely putting this idea out there to see if anyone is interested.Ill check back periodically for a response.

I'm working on similar ideas also, instead of one corp,i was thinking about a idea of a casual player freelance alliance of some sort. Where not one players actions can directly affect the alliance itself. Making each player owning their own corp in a scence responsible for any of their own actions and or can be excommunicated from the alliance if their actions are dissagreeable to the majority. In short,a operation working like the full time corps and alliances, but based on casual players instead. There's my ideas thrown out, can't wait to see what other ideas about this subject are floating out there.

You guys should get into contact with LifeLine Solutions
we welcome players like that - most of us are mission runners working independent of eachother - but we get together for an occasinal corp mining operation from time to time to ensure production of drones and missiles for our own usage (and some market retail if there is more than needed). Solo-mined minerals are credited to your Account in the corp wallet - no one is forced to do anything - there are almost no rules - if you are interested to get us known we gladly invite you to join us in the NeoCom Channel "Service" - or drop me an evemail !
we are currently 4 active members - so there is room to grow !

Mace, we've already developed an alliance similar to what you've written.
My corp, the TimeTech Corporation, is very casual in nature - certainly no flaming or anything like that. If you're online, great.. if not then it doesn't matter. Mostly we're all doing individual things but we'll try to do something together if several ppl are online.
First and foremost we accept that we're all here to enjoy the game, no matter which aspect a player wishes to pursue.
We're also part of the UN Alliance - 3 corps in our local systems in Genesis region who are all also pretty casual in nature.
Sounds like this is a good opportunity to grow - perhaps visit us in Gergish system sometime?

Amen, brothers and sisters! I would welcome such a corp wholeheartedly. I have been prowling around Minmatar space (only a week old), but I would be happy to join up with a weekend warrior corp. Evemail me if one gets going. I think even some casual teamwork/division of labor should make things a lot easier for those of us leading double lives. --
