Subject: Holst, John R.
I will start off by saying that despite his rather antisocial attitude during our interview, John is an excellent cannidate for the school. I beleive his behavior is more due to the fact that as a young child he suffered from parental abuse (from both parents!) whom were apparently both alcoholic. His father eventually died after falling from a catwalk above a hangar in a drunken stupor.
He fell into the vicious cycle of both the school and his parents hating him, and was always an outsider.
A small outline of his various infractions:
- Suspended from school numerious times for aggressive behavior toward other students.
(Fighting, intimidation, et-cetera.)
- Expelled at the age of 16 for assaulting the principal.
(States it was in self defense, after experienceing his skill with antagonism, this is probabaly the truth despite the contradictory police statements.)
- Caught attempting to steal a frigate from Caldari Constructions.
(A good thing, too. It was a pod-equipped ship; He would have suffered brain-lock had security not overridden the launch sequence with a whole five seconds to spare.)
- Escaped from jail during his sentence from the aforementioned frigate incident.
(This shows an incredible resourcefulness considering the near impregnability of modern cells!)
- Sentenced to 24 months of hard labor in an asteroid mine for the first escape.
- Proceeded to escape from the penal mining installation.
(He fabriated a replica of an ore shipment container in the prison's maintaince bay and built a small life support system from stolen spare parts. Another inmate swapped the container I.D. tags and got him shipped to our factory station, where he was subsiquently discovered by the longshoremen unloading the badger.)
I will reiterate that this subject shows an astounding willpower and resourcefulness, that more or less matches our criterion for joining the academy's pod program. Considering he almost managed to launch a pod equipped ship, he has gotten some hands-on experience somewhere (possibly his father; he was a maintaince mechanic for Caldari Constructions.) although he denies ever having done more then read technical manuals that were laying around his family's apartment.
(If this is true it would indicate a desireable level of intelligence as well.)
Our training regimen is easily capable of breaking his antisocial behavior and teaching him how to direct his anger and angst toward society in a "constructive" manner. This individual has never had a real chance at life, and I beleive we can give him the family, guidence and kinship he needs to turn over a new leaf.
I've taked with his court handlers, and they overwhelmingly agree. They have agreed to expunge his records of all crimes should he be given admittence under a state sponsorship. Since I am in the position of deciding who gets the scholarships around here, he shall have it.
It's high time we stop pandering to the political elites and giving their snobby little brats free reign of the place to make good resumes for them. He will be a breath of fresh air around here, and I would like each of the instructors at the school to take him under their respective wings.
