Well, i am currently setting up a 0.0 capital production site on the test server for some research before it gets put into practice on Tranquility, and the whole capital pos production needs some love! Currently you can stre 1.000.000 m¦ at one component assembly array, the only site which can produce capital components. The problem: that is FAR FAR FAR to low for continious construcion purpose on 10 slots! you can built at max! 10 components per slot, which means you have to reset every slot every day, which really is a pain, especially cause you can`t store enough mins for continious production either. Seriously, if you plan on multiple carrier / Dread or even MS production, i can spent most of my eve time with setting up and switching pos slots!. Pls increase cargo capacity of the component assembly array to at least to 10 or better to 50 mil m¦, anything else is simply annoying!

Edited by: Meau on 25/07/2007 13:06:30 While i more or less agree, your problem here is the hangar array. Even now its often more efficient to use component assembly arrays instead of hangar arrays, if you increase them to 50M m3, ...

Yeah at the moment I use all component arrays instead of the corp hangar, as 1/2 the grid for 1m instead of 1.4m space is a bargain (esp since it's usually just a little fuel in there)...
They really need to make it a single slot or a couple of them and give it a nice speed boost instead, esp since it already has a 1.1x material multiplier :(
Drone array suffers the same.
However what you can do I guess is fill it, put the job on, then fill it again, then put another job on, etc.... kind of a pain, but should work.... TBH I'm just annoyed at how big adv materials are :(

That is exactly my point! Its annoying and the solution is quite simply. Just increase the capacity, 10 or 20 mil m¦ would be wonderful.

Capital production is supposed to take some effort, otherwise they would have just made the blueprints require huge piles of minerals instead of intermediate components.

The CPU and grid requirements are pretty low, maybe they need 'large' arrays that store more but take more fittings. Same with labs that have more slots etc...
You get the same with labs for invention if you want to put a ship in as an example, you end up filling it with 1-2 :o

Tbh, I wouldnt build components in a component assembly array. The whole 1.1x material multiplier make it a very inefficient assembly array. The cost of a MS goes up by like 1.5b, adds extra hauls, etc.
Your much better off building them in a low-sec station. If you want a MS, then your probably also better off using a ME2 or so Carrier BPO to produce carriers and then reprocess them in a station close to where your capital yard is. If you do it right, you'll only lose roughly 5% in refine (and the ME2 carrier BPO is already close to perfect ME).
Which is still less then the 1.1x from the assembly array.
p.s. this assumes your alliance isnt charging you for refines though.
