Where does the name 'Machariel' come from?
I did a quick search on Wikipedia and Google, but did not find anything.

Machariel is an "angel-related" name (some sort of aerial spirit or something).
All names of Angel ships are, err, you know... related to angels

Macha (/ˈmaxə/) is a goddess in Irish mythology linked with horses, battle, and sovereignty. She is said to have collected the heads of the slain, which were known as "Macha's acorn crop". Though possibly a triple goddess herself, she is often seen as one aspect of the Irish triple goddess of battle and sovereignty, the Morrfgan.
Possibly 
Most Minmatar names are taken directly from Norse Mythology would make some kind of odd sense if angel ones were taken from the geographically close Irish Mythology

Those far out fishermen was thinking Mackerel but then one of the imported devs told them not everyone shared their fish fetish and they added a little old testament wrath to it, behold Machariel!

It's not a name that derives from any angels or orders mentioned in the hierarchy of angels in the old testament.
hebrew perhaps then or ?

The name Machariel comes from the name Erica witch was a female australian pop singer who had a gender change, she/he produced the hit single 'hit me baby one more time' and won many awards.
She had a huge rotweiler and the name of that rotweiler was Machariel.
