Simples question: Higher DPS?
Assume the target is webbed. If 220, i will have to equip and RCU, thus taking away a low slot for damage mods. So assume you get 3 damage mods for 180s and 2 for 220.
which can get the higher DPS, and what mods do i equip?

Basic rule on minmatar ships is don't fit bigger guns if it means dropping a damage mod for a rcu.

QFT
220mm AC does about 6.8% more damage than dual 180mm.
Your 3rd mod with stacking penalty will add overall about 12.4% more DPS.

I use 425's in everything but a vagabond. I really dont see the reasoning in going 220s, just dont think the tracking is worth it. ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever

See above.
220s+1 gyro is more dps than 425s.
For instance, on a maller, max skills, EMP M. 1x 425 = 30 dps 1x 220 = 28 dps 1x d180= 27 dps
With 1x Gyro we get: 1x 425 = 37 dps 1x 220 = 35 dps 1x d180= 33 dps
With 2: 1x 425 = 44 dps 1x 220 = 42 dps 1x d180= 39 dps
And 3 gyro II: 1x 425 = 49 1x 220 = 47 1x d180= 44
Or more in a minmatar perspective, on a sleip, with 3x gyro(hail): 7x 425 = 730 dps 7x 220 = 696 dps 7x d180= 652 dps
Take the third gyro out of the equation(2gyro): 7x 425 = 650 dps 7x 220 = 619 dps 7x d180= 580 dps
Basically, a d180 sleip with 3x damage mods outdamages a 425 sleip with 2.
220s are a bit easier on the ammo than d180s, and track far better than 425s.
Suprised?
Do teh maths.
EDIT: What I'm saying is that I only fit 425s where fitting is no issue and I have 3x gyro anyways. Like on a Sleipnir. I fit 220s often, but only where I won't have to sacrifice a gyro to fit them.
