Edited by: Lomex on 03/02/2004 14:50:27 It might be worth matching the max quantity to that of eve's.
I believe it to be 2.147 trillion (plus decimal places).
This may also apply to prices.
*edit* I'm glad you've kept the cows, they still ***** me up. But what I really want to know, is whats going on underneath the picture? One cow looks decidedly nervous, while the other seems to be rather happy with himself.... and is looking down! ___________________________________________ Join in the NEW Sci-Fi Quiz |

ITs the max size of an int wich is about 2 billion, not 2 trill ;) ___________________________________________________

Ooops yes sorry, 2.147 billion.
Although thats the max size of a signed int :P
Unfortunately you need decimal figures as well, which would mean it would need to be decimal(12,2). Don't need the excessive number of decimals that CCP use to figure out percentages etc though. ___________________________________________ Join in the NEW Sci-Fi Quiz |

Ok, I bumped the max qty up to 4,294,967,295 (unsigned int). There's one thing I was wondering though... why would I need decimal places? ----- EVE Marketplace | Forum Search Tool EVE M staff |

Edited by: Ada Isdead on 04/02/2004 00:29:47 Err, how is authentication working?
Is it purely off of the IGB headers?
If so then thats fakeable, if you know what your doing, and then you can set a pass code for your victim and then access it out of game.
Can we have the option of password protecting our accounts both in and out of game?
(edit:)
Thinking about this one way to do it is:
You register out of game, and get an activation code.
You then access the website using the IGB and enter the activation code.
The Website then uses the evemail: link method with a random code in the body of the message. This random code, the details of the Out of game account, and the player's character name and corp details are logged somewhere.
The player then sends the message to you (Desper) in game.
Beacause you can't fake evemail messages from someone (at least not without stealing there account), When you (Desper), receive the in game email with the random code you then compare the code to the log and if they match then you know that a particular account on your site matches a particular player.
You could embed the code in a url in the email so all you'd have to do would be to copy and paste it into the IGB to verify the code.

Ask and you shall receive, for the good EVE Marketplace will provide and protect us in times of wants. The times of suffering through the spamming of WTS and WTB is coming to an end and a new era is beginning... the Marketplace era.
(hehe... just had to do that) Protect your character and corporation: set your locking key by clicking the Personal Account or Character Info link ingame.
Note: I have to run and haven't gotten much time to test the code. I might have really FUBARed the ingame site. Let me know if anything is messed up. Thanks in advance. ----- EVE Marketplace | Forum Search Tool EVE M staff |

Oops, I didn't see the edit there Ada Isdead. I hope you prefer the way I just implemented it where you just set the key ingame. If you didn't set any key for your account and there is one, just evemail me and I'll change it to something random. There'll be less administrative work for me to do this way.

Looks like a great site. I have trouble setting it up though. When using the ingame browser I get the main site showing but clicking Character Info just gives me a blank page.
"Loading" "Done" .... Emtpy page. Know how to get around that?

Yea, somebody else reported having that problem. It might be from the new code I just put in. If anyone else is having that problem, let me know. I'm having some problems finding the bug right now since the IGB doesn't show any error codes that the page might be printing out. In the meanwhile, just evemail me this info:
Email notification address: (blank to disable. setting one will allow EVE Marketplace to send you notifications when you get a new buy order. note: email, not evemail) >> Out-of-game access code: (blank to disable. setting one will allow you to use the EVE Marketplace site out-of-game to buy and sell) >> In-game unlocking key: (blank to disable. setting one will require you to authenticate in-game via this unlocking key) >> ----- EVE Marketplace | Forum Search Tool EVE M staff |

I found one small bug so far, but it's not the one that might be causing problems. My guess is that there might be a problem connection between the server and the client. The server for the site is located in ThePlanet at Texas, US if anybody is wondering. If you're having problems with the ingame site, please list your location and your connection. ----- EVE Marketplace | Forum Search Tool EVE M staff |

I didn't even bother looking around the site the first time (because of no originality from eve-online official site), and it's taken me this long to take a second look, I'm glad I have I'll be sure to use it. Looks great, and a great idea. _________________________________________________________

Edited by: Daakkon on 06/02/2004 08:54:49 Hey Desper GREAT site but i really dislike the new color scheme what about black & green instead of how it is right now so where the blue would be on the official site would be dark green :)

FZappa, where are you located geographically? I'm thinking it might be an overseas connection problem... I'll put some work into trying to fix it, but I have to have a volunteer who's having problems to help me out.
As for the green on black, I dropped it for a new look. ----- EVE Marketplace | Forum Search Tool EVE M staff |

Ah, ok. I changed the site's coding and made it so that it would save and compress the page before sending to your browser. This might help with overseas transmissions as the EVE browser code (I looked) is a little bit sketchy. I hope it helps. As for your setting up your OOG access code, just evemail me if this fix isn't working for you.

Hey, I'm running out of ideas on how to improve EVE Marketplace. The stand-alone application idea/project will take a while since I have like no experience with doing winapps. Is there anything you would like to see added to the site in the meantime? ----- EVE Marketplace | Forum Search Tool EVE M staff |
